Just because you don't understand why a word is offensive doesn't mean that it isn't. For example, "Paki" is just an abbreviation of the word Pakistani, yet it's generally accepted these days that it's use is derogatory and offensive. As with many aspects of language, the context of use is important.

Are you the target of that term though? You don't find it offensive as it isn't aimed at you perhaps; in which case how can you tell someone who it is aimed at how they should feel about it?

The exact same argument you used was applied through history for no end of words including the N and F words you mentioned and it has only been as time has moved on; communities have gained a greater voice than when they were more oppressed than now and when others have been better educated as to what is right and wrong that those terms were finally seen as unacceptable by a greater majority of people.

Treating people equally whomever they are doesn't stop once some minority groups aren't being persecuted and/or disrespected as much as they were in the past; equality is only real when it applies to everyone. Language history teaches us that dominant cultures "other" those they fear or don't understand by using terms to make them appear strange, different and less equal. On a forum like this we should be leading the example for change not choosing to continue to offend because it doesn't bother us.

This is not a case of me choosing some random poor and undeserving individual to pick on and as someone who has been on this forum far longer than myself you must know this.

I will admit I don't always agree with Holzz's posts; I've argued with him on occasion and most likely called him an idiot at least once. I still think that there are better ways - take the piss out of him without making certain comparisons we've debated in this thread perhaps.
