In not one of those tweets (or the other ones I saw via an online archive) did Aspen tell or even suggest August kill herself (speaking of which, news just came out suggesting the possibility of foul play). Yet now Aspen is getting tweets like this:

Hypocrisy.

As I mentioned on Twitter, faceless online trolls are using the death of their “friend” to fuel homophobia and transphobia. The only thing about August these trolls liked about her was the fact she was a hot girl and they can’t masturbate to her anymore. That’s it.

Yeah, it's fucking disgusting. That's why I hate identifying with groups like the "left" or "right" or anything else. When you break it down, they are all trash. While Aspen was trash in her own right, she was nowhere near the level of others who came at August or the people who came at Aspen.

This story really highlights the political divide in this country. Everybody who attacked either August and Aspen did so through the lens of their political view, because that's the only way they can view the world.

The whole thing started with hate. And hate begets more hate. Even after it resulted in someone's death. There were people who still were nasty. The result is it draws in more people into it. To be honest, I find that people of late are just filled with anger and look for a reason to throw their frustration at anyone else. I want to say society has recently become a mess, but it has always been a mess.

Someone stated an opinion (August)
Someone else stated an opinion on said opinion (Jessica)
Others stated their opinions on both opinions, some more vile than others.
Someone kills themself over others’ opinions.
People blame that death on others opinions.

Yet folks are now saying “Keep your opinions to yourself”.

Can’t have it both ways.

To be fair, the comments she got from her tweet were seriously uncalled for. Performers typically tell their agents or studios what they will or will not do, for all we know, they tried to slip this one through on her and she was voicing her displeasure on twitter and informing others at the same time.

Who is anyone to say what someone else should or should not allow to happen to them when it concerns their bodies. People got all sorts of sensitive and banner waving when they took her tweets about it in a manner I believe she never meant for it to happen.

Also as someone who suffers and has suffered from moderate to sometimes severe depression for 31 years, yea something as simple as the wrong words can push you over the edge, because when you're in that state of mind, you are literally looking for that trigger which allows you to dive off the deep end, some people use words as that trigger, others use other items.

a performer is dead, performers are getting death threats, people are deactivating twitter accounts and the studios and agents who ignored a performers right to turn down working with someone are not getting any blame. that seems like what this situation is, and i'm wondering why the studio and agents are being let off the hook by everybody. i'm tired of hearing about hate coming from one side or the other. if the studios and agents hadn't ignored august ames' personal preferences none of this would've happened.

That's so sad that she died. But the internet really seems to take hold of some people in a very negative way.
I'm constantly hearing everywhere that online bullying needs to stop. And I hear it a lot with children. Maybe I'm way off the mark. But I think if I had a child who was being bullied online. I would take away their internet access and any device they have that can connect them to the internet. And perhaps there are some adults who shouldn't be on the internet as well.

But it seems like these days taking the internet away from children and some adults is considered the same as taking away food and water.
