    Peggygee,

On practically every 3rd or 4rth box of porn, there's the term "shemale".

Obviously, some of the popular websites also cater to the term "shemale".

As it is, the term is obviously used in a sort of synonymous way when describing TS women, and the term is quite popular, at least in the Adult Entertainment industry.

That, being what it is, in respect to the porn and such, How does the term make you personally feel?

(P.S.) Please don't use crazy words......I'm drinking, and besides that, I'm not THAT smart. lol

Resurrected thread but what the heck... my opinion,

SheMale, LadyBoy, Tranny, C with D, etc., are all marketing terms.

When used as direct reference to an induvidual they become demeaning IMHO, unless on certain occasions when used between transgendered people.

Similar to the "N" word in the ghetto. A shemale can call another shemale a shemale - but YOU can't.

Most transgendered women prefer to be referred to as TS, transsexual, t-girl, trans woman, etc.

One is polite the other crude. Got it?

    Hugs,

I absolutely, totally hate the term. As I believe I have stated before. And I find that it turns up more porn results than "tranny" does.

While I do hear and largly understand what you are saying, I think.

I thought I'd give caution and suggest pause with the idea that the "N" word, as you called it, being equivalent and therefore indistinguishable from the term "shemale".

One of those terms is demeaning and condescending (except in porn apparently.....but we'll save that), while the other is sordid and some have even argued, the worst "insult word" in the English language.

If there's any doubt or question as to why this is so, I will merely submit these exhibits to illustrate and punctuate this point.

Sweetie - nowhere did I say shemale was "indistinguishable" from another racist term.

I said both are occasionally used by members of the respective communities when addressing people they know in various contexts but is it inappropriate for outsiders to use them.

Just as I feel it's inappropriate for a TS to call a gentleman who likes transsexuals a "trannie-chaser" while in his presence. But it is a term which is occasionally used in private discussion BETWEEN TS's.

I'm not going to get into a bunch of racist bullshit here - especially since I'm about to release a new video where I perform with a TS of African American heritage and had a damm good time doing it, and so did she!

    So pleeeeeze...

And I don't have any photos of the 20 or 30 TRANSGENDERED people who are murdered each and every year or I'd post those for you to enjoy. Although there's some on the internet of the "gay" boys who were hanged in Iran last year if you care.

    Hugs,
    TS Jamie
