Depends on the context, but I would rather not use it at all. I don't want to offend anyone here, so I've been using T-girls because it seems like the safest term.

yodajazz's post made me rethink that. Maybe I should start using "TW" instead.

Odd, that I voted, but have not yet responded to this thread.

I've nver been comfortable with the term "shemale", even within the porn connotations (Which is where it first surfaced and seems most prevelant). I say T-girl or 'gurl' a lot, just for definition. It seems to work.

I am partners in a small dotcom that has been exploring adult entertainment as one of its ongoing projects (Click the link below, please) and in early revelations that I was interested in T's the partner I interact with most used to use 'shemale' in the conversation. Though I don't recall any kind of pressure on my part, he seems to have clued into my distaste of the term, as 'shemale' no longer appears in any of the IM/PM/correspondence from him unless he is referring to a vid title.

So, you see, we =can= make a difference.

So I guess 'sluts with nuts' is right out.

Personally I prefer term transsexual or ts. Shemale seems demeaning just because of the baggage associated with it. My gf prefers transsexual, or just woman. If I am talking about her gender status to somebody I say she is ts, most of the time the only people I am talking about this with already know terminology. Tgirl isn't a term I use either, manly because of the girl connotation, it is ok in some cases, likewise I am not a real fan of transwoman either.

this reminds me of- do you prefer to be called Negro, black, colored, African American. Do you prefer to be called Transsexual, tranny, shemale, ladyboy, T-girl, chicks with dicks, gender benders or special ladies

Even though this isn't a petting zoo, you can still stroke my cock if you want.

    I am a woman.

    I am a Black woman.

I am a post operative transwoman.

But I am not now, never have been, nor ever will be a shemale.

when a guy refers to me as a shemale, I see him as a trick, client, pago, whatever. Real men refer to me as what I am, a woman, a transgendered woman, but a woman.

it's demeaning and degrading, naturally used in the porn industry, although I don't think that makes it any less offensive in that context.
