That's a particularly unpleasant piece of propaganda.

it's really interesting how this went from 3 guys having a beer to same sex marriage (cringe!!) being something that fucks everything up.

This 'thin end of the wedge' type of argument is pretty standard on the 'vote no' side, who know that they cannot win a straight-up argument on the merits of allowing SSM. One of them (who used to be a government minister!) even argued that it would lead to people being allowed to marry inanimate objects like the Sydney Harbour Bridge. https://www.buzzfeed.com/aliceworkma...LE#.xtXLq38MPn

Unfortunately, these tactics seem to be effective. The latest poll shows there is still a strong majority of 57% in favour, but that has fallen from 62% and there is still about 6 weeks to go before the postal survey closes. http://www.skynews.com.au/news/top-s...e-falling.html

Australia was one of the most progressive countries in the world in the early 20th century, but our recent record is not so great, for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austra...ferendum,_1999
