Slightly off-topic but if you're reasonably good looking it helps to have a spare car (something cheap but clean like vw golf 3/honda civic) for the first date. This helps to weed out the ones that are in it for the money.

Personality means very little without looks. Girls, especially hot girls, generally aren't dating a dude if he isn't somewhat attractive.
