The Crying Game is clearly about a crossdresser. The movie makes no attempt to say that Dill is actually in transition and the scene in question is the reveal where Dill reveals that he is just a crossdresser. Even when it comes up later, they always reference that Jody liked to pretend. Then Fergus forces Dill to cut his hair and dress as a man for "safety's sake".

Boy Meets Girl is a good movie but though it obviously is about a gender identity struggle, at is core, it is really about a boy coming to terms with with girl he is meant to be with. It is not that deep. The middle scene between Ricky and Francesca is actually extremely fitting for how I view the difference in my attraction to cis- and transgender women so the movie does have additional meaning to me.

It has been some time since I saw Princesa but I don't think she shows full frontal. This movie is a bit more heartbreaking in terms of the story it tells since a transwoman is abused and fails at turning away from a life of prostitution.

i agree that the crying game was a seminal moment (pun intended) in movie history and i can see the attraction to Dill. Once someone brings up Stargate, where Ra was clearly a boy, and the movie even says the alien took host in a BOY, it is a wholly different story.

there is nothing wrong with being attracted to a crossdresser, early 90s jaye davidson or even jaye now (see below), but conflating those together is unusual.

Gaspar Noe, if he can't shock you then he is not doing his job, but are you shocked? Ie, look closely and there is nothing there.
