    Default Exchange Rates/Value for Money (help)

    I was wondering if any of you travellers out there had a favourite place that offered good Value for Money... due to the exchange rates (I know the pound isn't that strong at the moment)

    For hotels as well as everything else!

    For example, I'd imagine Thailand would be good... as it has a reputation.
    But just how cheap is it? Flights? Accommodation? Beer? Girls? Etc.

    I'm not asking for anything too full on... just a rough outline of places you've been that were great, but made better because of the exchange rate

    (I am looking to fit in as many holidays as I can next year... you guys will be helping me to plan)

    Thanks in advance

    Don't be a lazy ass.......use the search function on the site and you'll come up with plenty threads on recommendations. In the meantime here's some useful info:

    www.xe.com (get exchange rates here)

    https://www.stickmanbangkok.com/ (info about Thailand for sex tourists)

    The more you get invested in figuring things out for yourself rather than looking for quick and dirty advice, the better your trip will be.

    Mexico looks like a good deal if you can afford the flight, otherwise there is a sample list of European and Asian destinations here-

    Thailand IS cheap, once you get there....
    I stayed at the Chatrium in BKK my first few nights. It comparable to the 4 Seasons, or Mandarin, but only $150 USD a night!!!!
    https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...k-Bangkok.html

    I also went to Pattaya, and Koh Phangan. Both were really inexpensive as well.

    You can eat for $6-10 a day, drink (your fill & then some) for about $10-20, and party with LB's for sub $50 for a short time (1 shot on goal), and $75 for a long-time (12 hours)

    The flights are the most expensive aspect of the trip. Oh yeah, and 30 hours of travel.

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    Central / South America are really good value for your USD. The women are plentiful, and, well, you can figure the rest.....
    Ha! Thanks Tom Petty! I love it when someone states the obvious...
    I wasn't aware that you could get exchange rates online... next they'll be letting you chat to people on message boards...
    Slightly useless without local knowledge though, don't you think? Especially when certain cities, in the same countries, are better value & less touristy than others
    Anyway, cheers for the Thailand link though, that'll come in handy... much appreciated
    Yeah... there's definitely a fine line... I suppose I'm looking to maximise my holidays, just thought it'd be interesting to see if anyone had any good advice for a quality place, that wasn't too expensive. That way I can have more holidays next year
    Also, there seems to be a lot of good heads on here, not done a great deal of travelling, so any first-hand info would be very helpful
    Cheers!
    Yeah, just had a look, good ratings on TripAdvisor too! I think Thailand will be 1st, and possibly a tour of South America in 2018!
    I love Thai food too... so, probably the highest on my hit list...
    Info much appreciated!
    Nice one Stavros!
    That was a good read! Will do a bit of research, Bulgaria looks good (price-wise) plus, I have friends there, but also Portugal seems logical, with it being a short flight from the UK...
    Much appreciated!
    According to the Economist's Big Mac Index, Thailand is not especially cheap these days - a bunch of other countries seem to be a lot cheaper http://www.economist.com/content/big-mac-index
    Obviously, it depends what your are looking for in a holiday. Other Southeast Asian countries offer similar attractions to Thailand, though the TS escort scene might not be as good. I went to Myanmar this year and can recommend highly - very cheap and the country is just opening up to tourism, so people are genuinely pleased to see tourists and I never felt like a walking $ sign as you do in some other countries.
