The news went all the way to Australia/? Gosh - they have their priorities right.
Yeah, the timing is kinda weird. I did wonder...
BTW, has East Anglia just been relocated to New South Wales? Or are you on holiday, Mr Stevenson?
Actually, I wasn't too impressed by the way the BBC reported the Capello story on the TV this morning. I got a distinct impression that somebody there had friends in the FA...
It is a poisoned chalice like you say for whoever gets it.For me it doesn't really matter who our manager is. There is no way we are going to win anything with our overrated prima donna players.
Along with the whole issue if John Terry is selected - which I am sure will bring a bad atmosphere to the England camp. If they are going British then Harry Redknapp is the only real choice. If they go for a foreign manager again I think it will be Guus Hiddink who is available at the moment & has a good record
The toxic issue of racial/verbal abuse on the field of play as well as in the stands does not seem to have generated any dialogue between the FA and the Team Manager. The FA could have told Capello what the official line was -maybe they did?- or he could have gone to them to ascertain the boundaries of what was permissible -maybe he did? - yet the result is an own goal by a man from whom nobody now expected anything anyway -so did he give that interview deliberately? Is it now the Board of the FA who selects the England captain?
So here we are in a country which used to run an overseas Empire, where hundreds of successful firms still exist, but when it comes to sport, all sense of mission, or even business savvy, seems to evaporate. The same FA can't open a dialogue with either the major clubs or the Associations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to get the Team GB organised, nor will the FA delay the start of the 2012-13 season, and as the Olympics begins on the 27th of July when most big clubs are making money on foreign tours, and ends about a week before the start of the new season, who is going to release their best players? What a useless bunch of crooks!
If Redknapp takes the job, can a new manager maintain Tottenham's amazing season? How long will it be before 'Arry is on the back page of the Sun dressed up as a vegetable?
This is a country where the govt will be deploying more troops for the security of the Olympic games than they send to Afghanistan, so much for sport!
why dont england just give up with football at international level .. be much easier for us ..
Well England needs a huge change ,anyway he said before that he will go after world cup.how come that it took so long?anyway let,s see a good manager then him.im so curios now.
He could make a career taking the lead role in Postman Pat - The Musical.
