Looking at OP I would say that porn should not be locked into any conventions. We can argue as we like about the finish product's content appeal to us and why.
But porn is part business, part speech, part artistic expression and as such there are no boundaries IMHO. The number of viewers will dictate how broad and audience it will appeal to.
