Serious question, are we ever going to find out how many are dying with covid rather than from covid? There were always stats on flu and flu deaths, but no more. And it is being reported from multiple spots now the nearly 50% of hospital admissions are now with covid, not because of covid. An example would be someone going to the hospital for a broken arm and being found to have asymptomatic covid.
Honestly, who gives a shit? Why is that even something people care about? Millions of people have died as a direct consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2017, the death rate in the United States decreased by 0.4%.
In 2018, it decreased by 1.1%.
In 2019, it increased by 1.2%
In 2020, it increased by 17%.
That's an increase of an entire order of magnitude. What the fuck do you think happened?

Hypothetical: Patient gets admitted to the hospital with a skull fracture and a subdural hematoma after a major car accident. Tests positive with an asymptomatic covid case. Later that night patient has repeated seizures and dies. If you think doctors are putting covid as the cause of death in cases like this you have very little faith in our medical schools.Quote:

Excess death numbers are a good way of allaying this concern. In nearly every country excess death numbers are greater than counted covid deaths. So while there may be the occasional false attribution there is more undercounting of covid deaths. In summary, there have probably been more covid deaths than the 5.5 million that have been reported.
People who die 'from Malaria' often die from Liver failure, the clinical cause of death, but their liver became infected because it was invaded by the Malarial parasite -most often Plasmodium Falciparum. The key clinical issue in current cases must therefore be, would this patient have died had it not been infected with the Coronavirus? The actual cause of death is thus a matter of judgment -did someone die from lung/respiratory failure? Would their lungs and their respiratory system have collapsed for any other reason, other than the virus?
Someone who dies from cirrhosis of the liver actually died from alcohol but that the only way clinicians can make the connection is by saying 'X Died of Cirrhosis of the Liver Caused by Excess Alcohol Consumption' -ditto 'Lung Cancer because he was a smoker', etc.
What appears on the notice of death might not tell the whole story. Subtract Covid from the diagnosis, then make the judgment. Thus Covid becomes a merciless killer, and that cannot be denied.

I just want to point out one thing. Omicron has been around for one month out of a 22 month ongoing pandemic. This is the first time substantial numbers of people are being diagnosed with covid when they were admitted to the hospital for other reasons. The fact that doctors are pointing out that many cases are asymptomatic means they are not attributing whatever malady the patient is suffering to covid.
In most hospitalized covid cases the symptoms are not very subtle. People who cannot saturate their blood unless they have oxygen, really bad pneumonia, and kidney failure. Often you hear there is a progression as those who originally went to the hospital needing oxygen are transferred to the icu to be ventilated and then they never make it off of the ventilator.
There is a possibility of a false attribution for any cause of death but you would expect it to be fairly rare if the people are dying of known covid complications approximately one month after their diagnosis. The excess death numbers are a way to provide a check; do our mortality numbers for a new disease correlate with the increased mortality in society. They do...and often suggest undercounting of covid deaths.

They try to confuse people with George Floyd death like that because you die from a heart attack as a result of lack of oxygen. The Primary cause of George Floyd death was homicide by strangulation and the secondary cause was heart attack. They tried to say he died from fentyal but there was not enough in his system to cause a heart attack,they even tried to say the exhaust gases from the police SUV caused his death which was not true based on blood work.
Many nurses are confused because people who have other Morbidities are said to die from Covid-19.
It's true the Primary cause of death is Covid-19 but the secondary cause is some other Morbidity like heart disease, diabetes, pneumonia ect...
People die from preventable death because of underlying medical conditions that they would of loved if not for the Covid-19 complications.
