Hi all
I really liked this movie.
The CGI was great, and i liked the ending. If you didn't watch the full ending which happened during the end credits, you missed it.
Babe,

:dead:How do you find 4 year old threads just to open them
Well, i....
Oh, and hello to you, also, BLKGSXR.
...i was searching the forum to see if there was already a thread about a specific topic that i wish to discuss, and during that search, i noticed the thread about that film, and i commented on it.
OH NO!!
Don't tell me that "old threads" are "dead threads" and should never be resurrected.
Or maybe...that...new members are not allowed to search the forums.
Here's a polite question for you now, sweety.
Why post a comment in a 4 year old thread and not even comment on the discussion?
I'm just curious.
I answered your question. Can you POLITELY answer mine? lol
Would you like me to suggest some multiple-choice options?
Babe,

My favorite "Apes" reboot was the 2001 "Planet Of The Apes" with Mark Wahlberg, Helena Bonham Carter, and Michael Clarke Duncan...(amongst others)....
Hi,
HUH? What? Off topic! (pointing at you)
I asked this:

Original is way better IMO. Somehow the original had more impact without the fancy cgi. The story was better I guess.
...first of all, I fail to understand why so many seem to have a problem w/ cgi...if it's done well (which these are) it doesn't upset me in the least. But more to the point...
....that's the fundamental question, isn't it. The original was quite popular when it came out and novel for it's day (until they beat it to death w/ all the sequels) , but I'm sorry, the apes looked like actors w/ half a grapefruit shell stuck on the front of their faces. In the Tim Burton version, at least the apes looked like apes and had great performances from Paul Giamatti, MC Duncan and Tim Roth...and, altho I seem to be the only one in the world who thought it was OK, it somehow managed to gross $362 Mill. Also, I don't seem to have the problem w/ Lithgow and Franco that others do....I enjoyed Rise , esp Andy Serkis as Caesar....outstanding. Dawn is next up in my Netflix que....looking forward to it
The Planet of the Apes reboot is superior in many ways because of cgi.
Rise and Dawn were awesome conceptual movies, but the originals gave me nightmares as a kid watching them on late night TV. Scary eyes.
Hi all,
The whole thing started with this movie back in 1968.
Planet of the Apes. (First movie)

:dead: Lol did you just post a link to a pirated movie site???
Ever thought of buying the license?
Pirate site?
Pffft! No idea.
I type into google what i want to watch and the site was in the search results.
I clicked on the "WATCH" button (not the download link) and the movie starts playing. I heard a virus warning, (as i've already said) from my resident virus scanner and it blocked the virus and i watched the movie.
Is that against the law?
I thought owning a pirate movie site was, or downloading movies to sell, was.
I am just watching it.
If it's a pirate site whoever 's in charge can delete the post if they want.
I don't care. I didn't say to DOWNLOAD the movie.
What are you talking to me for anyway??
Yuck
Well let this be known that you're infringing on private citizens copyright's. So maybe you should knock it off?
Movies are getting to Computer Animated and Cartoony. I don't even buy the movies.
At least porn hasn't got Computer Animated yet!
Hi ElectricWoody,
I know, eh.
When i watched Spiderman with CGI, i REALLY didn't like watching a "cartoon" as a stunt-man could have done the stunts.
You know?...it's HOLLYWOOD! That's what they do!
But for the Rise of the Planet of the Apes, it was acceptable as they can't get primates to do stuff.
I would much prefer watching the CGI like in this movie than to have actual animals used, and the ape costumes i can do without in 2015.
The costumes were great back in the day but those days have long passed, in my opinion.

Yall are being stubborn oldheads.
If any franchise reboot was totally made for CGI, it's Planets of the Apes.
The script for Rise of the Planet of the Apes is equal to the original Planet of the Apes, and the imagery of the reboots totally outclass the hokey makeup used for the original sequels.
Film director to animal handler: Can you make the chimp scream the word, "Noooooooo!!?"
Animal handler: "Uh, no. Chimps can't speak, sir."
Film director to animal handler: "Hmm, alright. Then, can you ask it to repeatedly fire two revolvers while riding a horse going top speed on cement."
Animal handler: "Uh, sorry sir, but all he does is eat bananas and pretty much walk around on his knuckles."
Film director to animal handler: "Oh yea, yea i forgot that. They look almost human, you know?...okay uh...the gorilla. We need it to pick up that manhole cover over there and toss it at the squad car's windshield."
Animal handler:" Sorry, sir but he won't do that as gorillas are non-violent by nature."
Film director to animal handler: "Oh, i see, i see. Yes, yes. Hmm. Okay, uh, i really need the gorilla to jump from the bridge and throw itself at the helicopter waving it's arms over his head as if to maintain his balance while in flight. And it has to look REALLY angry."
Animal handler: "Uh, with all due respect, sir, that's a 300 foot drop to the river. It would traumatize the gorilla."
Film director to animal handler: "Oh yes, i forgot...okay , uh...er.. ah...hmm uhm...lemme think here uhmm...."
