Glad you pointed t(h)at out. I think a lot of girls, when they are finding their way, suffer from extreme body dysmorphia, which may manifest in tattoos, bodybuilding, excessive weight loss etc. Usually once they have come to understand that the real cause of their discomfort is that they are transsex they become more focussed, and work to be the women they are.
Body art is almost certainly the oldest visual art form humans have, and it can be very beautiful. It's true that some tats are better than others; however what happened to the 'nothing nice to say, say nothing' rule?
Personally I find what some women (not just transwomen either) have done to their noses far more problematic (again, by no means all) but I try to avoid commenting on them in such a way that they could be identified; it's her body, her face and once it's done it's done.

Spot on. I agree.

to the OP...you have to realize that some people love ink, either getting it or gawking at it, therefore if you don't like their look, just move on to another model without it. any choice made by a model is hers and you don't have to consume her porn if you don't want to.
perhaps rather than criticize a model for her choice in ink, you should voice your opinion with producers for signing them. at least then you are criticizing a business decision rather than a personal one.
I think my original question was why so many "bad" tattoos on trannys, and one of the above posters likely lurched into one of the major factors: extreme body dysmorphia. That would explain their desire to cover their bodies in "ink." However, it would not explain the poor quality of many of the tattoos (regardless of subject matter). The girl with the giant semi-truck on her back looks like it was done at the local juvenile hall. If you are going to get inked up at least spend the money to have a decent artist do the work.
As to Ms. French, glad to hear you are living the dream sweetheart. I will have to engage your services one of these days (but only after you have FFS and up the dose of your lithium). I suppose in addition to being unable to comment on inappropriate body art, that I also shouldn't comment on some people's bipolar reaction to such criticism.
There are a myriad of reasons why a person in general, not just a transsexual, gets bad ink. Just watch a show such as "Tattoo Nightmares" and you'll see why.
There are some really bad artists giving tattoos out there...but there are also some awesome ones too. Clearly, you have to shop around.
Body dysmorphia "might" be one small reason some people do it...but I don't believe that's a major reason...there are memorials, totems, family traditions...and simply because some people like the art.
Tattoos can be beautiful (to me anyway)...and since most people on this site are really only familiar with transsexuals in the adult entertainment industry..I would say that many entertainers in the industry get ink...not just transsexuals...as a matter of fact , not just people in the adult entertainment industry...but entertainers - period. Why?...because they can.
I plan on getting some soon. Just found an artist I like. Some would think it's a little late in life for me....I think it's the perfect time...for me.
If you don't like them, don't hire them.
I personally find that tattoos can be very sexy - in that they suggest, in some respects, a sense of transgression. I met a girl from Belgium (now retired) a couple of years back. She had a scatter of stars across her shoulders that just worked a wonder. Very attractive and sensual.
I'm gonna have to side with Prospero here. A sensual tattoo can go a long way on a GG or TS for me, but if I can't see any skin at all that's not attractive to me. I guess I like them to accentuate the female physique. I also have a full sleeve myself so no hate. But I will never be getting anymore on me. Mine is a coverup of a bad tattoo from a more innocent time in my life.
