Just thought this should be posted. I remember the case in the news. She was beaten to death...whether or not she was killed by the initial blow - it seems the suspect continued to rain blows on her after she was down.
Trial will be later this week because the suspect turned down a plea deal.
Fucked up and sad.

It's amazing that he thinks he can do better than twelve years behind bars for taking another person's life. I hope he's wrong.

What a dickhead, there is NO excuse for what he did. Sounds to me like he liked TS's but didn't want to look silly in front of his mates...

Yeah, thought that was an very reasonable offer. I guess he figures a jury might sympathize with his plight...(her existence threatened his manhood in front of his boys...especially since it was his second time :smh)

Yeah, there's definitely something there...too bad people who have plenty of problems and worries in their own life have to worry about getting killed by a stupid douchebag who thinks someone else's physical well being isn't as important as how he looks in public - imaginary or not ...as if , other than his own asshole crew, anyone would ever even have known who he was.
Plus, as seen in the picture, Islan Nettles was a very attractive young lady, but if she was hanging out with her friends on a corner - and he was staring and noticing, he probably would have had at least an idea that she might have been a bit different...
Sad.
Kill a person who may have made you feel like a king or who probably would've understood if he had just kept walking.
Taking a plea would have been honorable for him.
But why take a more difficult path when you don't have an 'honor' gene.

Brooklyn Man Pleads Guilty in Transgender Woman's 2013 Death (http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/05/nyregion/brooklyn-man-james-dixon-pleads-guilty-to-manslaughter-in-transgender-womans-death.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=second-column-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news)

"A Brooklyn man who fatally beat a transgender woman after a chance encounter in Harlem in 2013 pleaded guilty on Monday to manslaughter in exchange for a sentence of 12 years in prison, prosecutors said."

Wow 12 years doesn't seem nearly enough...and he could even be paroled
