Adam West wasn't chubby but it probably was a weight issue.

I assume both those prop poles were hollow therefore West would get the bigger one.

If the poles were solid brass like the ones in FDs, they'd be much smaller.

There was a documentary on the series where it was said that they had to go to many lengths ( no pun intended but maybe pun was intended) to hide Ward's pole during shooting
