Have you figured out how to upload pictures into posts yet?

Uploading profile pictures (although I suspect what you actually want to do is upload an avatar) can be found if you click on "settings", top right of your screen, then look at the "my settings" box at the left hand side of the screen. "edit profile picture" or "edit avatar"

Replying to a pm should be the same as replying to a thread. When you open the pm, underneath is a box for the reply (which will already have the message you are replying to added in quotes).

This is insufficient information - describe what actions you are taking which screen(s) you looking at , which button(s) you press and what happens.

Supplying some concrete information like which device you are trying to do this on, what operating system version it's running on and what browser software and version might help?

e.g. PC running Windows 10, Firefox version 42.0

Clearing your cache is usually a good place to start.
