Sao Paulo - Zona Norte

I'm heading over to Sao Paulo in 8 weeks. I'll be staying in the Vila Amelia area of Zona Norte.
Staying with friends, which makes things a little complicated.

After some research online I discovered Jhoany Wilker. Looks amazing.

I doubt I'll be travelling alone into the centre of Sao Paulo, so I'll be looking to sort something close to Vila Amelia.

Anybody kind enough to offer advice on who is available in this area or any clubs etc I can visit.

of course he never been in Sao Paulo,

here some reviews from gringos staying in sao paulo hotels:

- Bad value for money, dangerous location with lots of crack adicts, wifi worked badly, room was not very clean. noisy.
- Location , downtown Sao Paulo in the evenings it is no safe at all, be careful .
