A segment on Fox Business’ Cavuto repeatedly mocked Caitlyn Jenner, who debuted her new identity (http://thinkprogress.org/lgbt/2015/06/01/3664635/caitlyn-jenner/) Monday on the cover of Vanity Fair, and misidentified her with male pronouns.
Neil Cavuto introduced the segment by asking in an exaggerated voice, “What the hell is going on?!?” The reporter, Dagen Mcdowell then proceeded to incorrectly use the pronouns “him” and “his” to refer to Caitlyn seven times.
Cavuto makes a joke of wanting to end the segment quickly, “Look at the time…” He then introduces his next guest, Charles Payne, as “Charlene Payne” to uproarious laughter. Watch:

Cavuto wraps of the discussion by suggesting the Vanity Fair cover was a sign of the end of American civilization. “Rome, final days. But that’s fine,” he concludes.

Oh yes, the former Bruce only did this to one-up his daughter. That's the only reason for transitioning. What a couple of insensitive, ignorant pieces of shit? But then again, put 'insensitive ignorant piece of shit' on your resume and you automatically can work for Fox.

Cavuoto gives his commentS who h all of us are entitled too. Later , Bill Oriely stated it was Wrong to criticize Trans people and noted the courage they have and the suffering they endure. Members of our community accuse people of being judgemental and intolerant and we are just as bad. This is no way to help our cause.all IN Fox does a better job being balanced.

Fox News Mocks And Misgender's Caitlyn Jenner That's par for the course, isn't it? Fox News is a misnomer, it's misinfotainment for the intellectually, emotionally, and ethically challenged.

...yep...you nailed it....one of the most definitive examples of an oxymoron there is....not even a remote resemblance to actual news
...studies show that people who watch Fox exclusively are even less informed than people who watch no TV news at all

True story Fox News wanted to expand into Canada but Canadian laws dictate that News programming be actual and factual. Fox said thats not what they are in the business of reporting, that their primary purpose was entertainment.

What exactly have they lied about? I find it very accurate in its reporting, it may not be what you want to hear but it is balanced.

Neil Cavuoto's been a smug arrogant asshole since he became a bit of a celebrity in the early CNBC days. He delivers his dribble as if it's Shakespeare prose.
My Facebook page is filled with re-posts of this and people's displeasure with Fox coverage. But in a way it just adds to their importance. Best way to register protest is to totally ignore them and keep their ratings limited to just the lunatics

What else would you expect from the prejudiced assholes on Fox "News"?

Saw the clip, and saw nothing too objectionable.

People (transsexuals included) need to quit being over sensitive. If people trip over pronouns next few days or weeks, it is not the end of the world.

Save the outrage for things that matter.

Using the correct pronoun to identify a transgender matters a lot, IMO

If someone has lived as a man for 60+ years (and been well known as in the case of Bruce Jenner) it is hardly surprising that people are unsure what pronoun to use. If the news media is still calling "Caitlyn" a "him" a year from now, then that might be something to bitch about (however complaining in the first few weeks smacks of over-sensitivity.

As I said above, the Transsexual Community needs to save the complaining and outrage for the stuff that really matters.

When (as a community) you keep making a bunch of fairly trivial complaints, then society in general is going to start tuning out all your complaints (even the more serious ones).

I was watching a segment on an ABC affiliate (USA ) and noticed they consistently used "she" and "her" when referring to Jenner. Good for them to get it right.

Who’s demonstrating outrage? If we can’t make note, on a forum such as this one, that another Fox misinfotainer is yet again making an ass of himself over this issue without being regarded as oversensitive, whining bitches than you can shove your lit cigar it up your shitty ass.

I'll refer to the 1976 Men's Olympics Decathlon winner, husband to Kris Jenner and biological father of Kendal and Kylie Jenner as Bruce and use male pronouns .

And, in the current tense ,refer to her as Caitlyn and use female pronouns.

Caitlyn may have privately identified as a female for most of her life, but it's more convenient and less confusing to refer to her as male ,when she presented as a male to the world, and a female, only after she came out as trans.

Neil Cavuto is a smug jerkoff. It's worth noting that he learned the tricks of the trade at NBC.

Fox Business in general is a great channel. John Stossel, Lou Dobbs, Trish Regan, Andrew Napolitano are all very good. I prefer it to CNBC.

When it comes to balance, Fox News itself has a fair amount of slant. However, MSNBC by far and away has the most slant of any major news network, with over half their content being editorials as opposed to hard news.

"regarded as oversensitive, whining bitches than you can shove your lit cigar it up your shitty ass."

Thank you for underscoring my argument that the TS Community should not constantly be carping about relatively unimportant matters.

Cavuto is a worthless piece of shit but is everyone now expected to pretend to forget the name Bruce Jenner overnight because of a Vanity Fair cover? For a community that demands acceptance and understanding, this thread certainly doesn't seem to extend any. Either lighten the fuck up or admit that you couldn't wait to find someone you could vilify so you could be identified as sympathetic and broad minded about her transition.

Bruce will always be Bruce, you can't be famous for 50 years the expect people to expect you as a whole new person it Dont work like that in the real world

The world may not work like that - at least on small time scales, but FOX is not the world. Media networks that bill themselves as respectable and unbiased news outlets should be capable of covering Caitlyn with the respect she deserves. Indeed, most news networks and programs have - with the exception of FOX (and their conservative radio counterparts).
