I really dug the first movie (really all the movies of the MCU) so I'm super hyped for the new Avengers. I'm thrilled they are adding the Scarlett Witch - she's one of my favorite Avengers.

The real question is should I cosplay when I go see the movie? What do you think of this one?

Like I said... I'm a little excited by the film.

Are you looking forward to it?

Yes, I'm totally excited for it. I've seen the first one about a dozen times. The trailers look great. The Hulkbuster scene looks fantastic. The scene where they're all hanging out trying to pick up Thor's hammer is funny. I didn't read much Marvel as a kid, so maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't it Hank Pym who created Ultron? The trailers make it seem like it was Stark. Also, Quicksilver is in this movie, as he is Scarlet Witch's brother, but he was also in the last X-Men. I thought they weren't allowed to cross those streams. Anyway, your costume looks great, wear it to the show.

What I wanted to ask you was if you were excited by the second Star Wars teaser. When I saw the wreckage of the Star Destroyer in the desert sands, I think I wet my pants a little. :)

I can't wait! I'm a little bummed that Marvel is supposedly skipping this year's San Diego Comic Con. I guess there is always the DC booth. :/

i will see the movie opening night BUT i am going in expected to be disappointed. i did not like the first one and i didn't like the last iron man movie but for $20, seeing it is a good way to waste a few hours.

foremost, the entire ultron/jarvis angle is stupid. also, thanos was set up in the first and will be the villain in the last. to me, it is clear that no EARTHLY foe can challenge the avengers as depicted in the first movie. That makes ultron a weak villain because either hulk, thor, iron man or the captain could defeat it. also, it is clear to me that the avengers NEED vision to be around for the pending fight with thanos so, all this movie will do is serve as an episodic moment to introduce quicksilver, scarlet witch and vision so they can be important in the 3rd movie.

it will suck IMHO but still make a billion dollars because fan boys everywhere will make it so.

I'm excited!

As a kid I collected comic books and still have a lot of them left, although I have been selling them on Ebay. I got some pretty decent dollars for Death Of Gwen Stacy.

Because of CGI, the movies really are the comics coming to life so I love most of them [um Daredevil sucked as did Electra] and I buy the Blurays of most of the movies. For some reason the last Spider-Man got mixed reviews but I LOOOOOVED it. It was my favorite comic book Death of Gwen Stacy come to life. The film did that book real justice in my opinion. I had chills when it happened. Incredible emotions just went through my body.

Even though I sold the book, I bought a reprint of Amazon. Mary Jane was feisty but Gwen was THE GIRL. All us nerds loved her so much. The writer of the book Gerry Conway in an interview was not that enamored of Gwen but if you read all the issues from beginning to end, you see how special she was. Here's Gerry's interview http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/GraphicCity/news/?a=75078

The Death of Gwen Stacy was also the basis for the 2nd Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire. In my opinion the parts were a bit mixed up, Emma Stone should have been Mary Jane and Kirstin Dunst should have played Gwen. But both still did a great job in their parts.

Back to Avengers, even if it's a disappointment, I'm still gonna buy the bluray. The whole Marvel Universe of movies have been great. It's funny how big Iron Man is as he was considered to be on the "B" list of superheroes. For myself, Iron Man 3 was just incredible. The introspection of Tony Stark, the portrayal of his human frailties was what really set Marvel comics apart from DC in the 60s and 70s.

oh yeah, DC...Christopher Nolan's Batman series was a monumental achievement for film, right up there with Godfather, Ben Hur, Citizen Kane etc. The Dark Knight is one of the greatest films ever!

Ok enough fanboy stuff back to hot Tgirls!

Yeah, I want to do something special for December... I'm trying to figure out how big we can go on the budget for one set. I suspect not very far... lol I'm a cheap bitch lol.

So tie me up and do dastardly, perverted acts to me all in a quest for World Domination?

I really think RDJ is why Iron Man took off. Given his life experience, I think he really gets the character of Tony Stark.

I tend to agree that his casting for the role made it better, perhaps added more depth than I think the character really ever had. I don't think it has to do so much with his life experience...he was always a talented actor with tons of charisma and sometimes Hollywood just casts the right person. I think the first Iron Man will always be the best ..but that's where the meat of the story is for that character.
All that being said - people's expectations for this stuff is sometimes set too high. It's high res action eye candy. When it's terrible, it's usually watched once and relegated to the dustbin section of a persons home video collection. But when it's very good...it can be watched more than once (sometimes many times more). It's a money making machine with intentional tie-ins to television shows, such as "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." (which I love because of the 'InHumans' connection) and the limited run of "Agent Carter"...that I also watched...Netflix' "Daredevil" also had a tie-in, in that the Hell's Kitchen area was rebuilding after the devastation from the alien attack in Avenger one.
All that plus everyone is usually highly attractive, just like the comic books, so that it's always guaranteed a huge audience.
Don't know if I'm gonna go to the movies to see this...I like going there less and less....but I'm definitely going to watch it at home...probably with a touch of weed.
Cause I love this shit...at it's best it's pure entertainment.

I've never understood why people have no problem with episodic tv, but get upset with episodic movies. You can tell a much bigger and better story spreading it out.

Just got home from seeing it. Better than the first. Absolutely two and a half hours of the most fun I have had in a theater in a long time. Go see it ASAP.
I am now done shilling for Disney.

But seriously, it is fantastic!

It's high res action eye candy.

I thought Joss Whedon may have actually accomplished the impossible and managed to translate a comic book art style to a cinematic experience. Look at the battle in the chapel. The fight has the look of an Alex Ross painting. Its gorgeous... but that stylistic choice never actually pulls you out of the fight or makes you think... ugh... poorly executed art.

I don't think I can call this my favorite MCU movie ever... I think Guardians currently holds that title, but I still think this was a fun movie and definitely worth shelling out the bucks to see it at the theater.

Thanks -- When I found it I was like - how cute would that be with my cock poking out from under it. #missionaccomplished
