Apologies as this may have already been debated but I saw a picture of Miriam Rivera (I'll include it below) in a thread and it reminded me of the Sky TV show from a few years ago:

There's Something About Miriam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/There%27s_Something_About_Miriam)

Seeing as it's been over 10 years since the show aired I wondered what people's feelings were about the show; how it was fairly high-profile for the time; its impact; what its legacy might be now; and if a dating show that included Transgender contestants but didn't try to conceal that fact could work now?

If this has been done to death elsewhere please let me know but if not I think it might be an interesting topic for debate.

Use the search engine, there have been multiple posts on the tv show and on the person named in your thread.

I'll have a look, I figured there probably would be. That doesn't preclude new debate however so if someone does have an opinion I'd be interested in hearing it.

Reality trash at its finest. I wish theyd have another season with a different girl.

If it aired in the U.S. I missed it. Can it be viewed online?

I have no idea actually, I remember watching bits of it back in the day when it was on but the fact all the guys were essentially being tricked just didn't encourage me to continue. If it had been open and honest from the moment they arrived at least it could have been more interesting.

I remember reading that the group of guys involved took some form of legal action following the filming perhaps repeat airings have been stopped owing to that.

Why downplay the experience? Is that to make us believe that you actually had an encounter with her?

I remember watching a couple of episodes. Wasn't interesting to me. Boring like the Bachelorette. There are snippets on YouTube.

I remember seeing the final episode on Aussie TV...

The guy who "won" was pretty upset after they
did the "big" reveal...but a couple of the other
guys were like "So what...I'd nail it"

They also had her as a guest on Australian
Big Brother...but one of the housemates had
heard about the series and told everyone as
soon as she walked in the house...so no one
was "trapped"

Is that the right term?

sounds like a stupid idea.

like blade runner...this show was ahead its time.

society is a bit more aware of transgender women today and a tad more accepting.
