Daniella Fox had a huge fan base and admirable number

i hope attention and correction will be brought to that

Speaking from experience with the science fiction and fantasy genres of award-giving, the voters are so easily swayed. :roll: While many vote for quality of work, others vote for who serves the best ice cream (Or, for that matter, the only ice cream - The Hubbardites). And the majority go by name recognition or pure laziness (Which is why a preponderance of A - K people win elections over L- Z candidates, because most people are too lazy to look down the entire list).

That's why I asked about the AVN award process. Yasmine could work her ass off (Literally) and Allanah (Please excuse me for using you as an example, Ms. A, but your name does begin with A :) ) could do a ten-minute online PSA about oral hygiene and pull the award just because some people won't take the time to review the list from A to Z.

Once the pre-noms are in a committe of 12 consisting of editors, reviewers, etcc look at the nominations and make the final list of who will be nominated. Last year maybe it was an oversight or everyone assumed Danielle would be there that NOONE nominated her therefore she got lost in the mix,,,,,,,,is it fair? NO However if a company like Evil Angel, Devils, etcc choose not to pre-nom a girl than she wont get nominated.

Once the nominations are in a committee (sp) of 30 are given the nomination list and vote. Now from what I am told probably most have no idea what a ts is let alone who they are LOL but anyhow the vote.......Now thats what I was told by someone very big within AVN.

Now here is the back behind the scenes nonsense, alot of the big wigs at AVN cast their vote according to where money is spent and who they know WHICH is sad but thats how it goes sometimes.

Danielle wont be overlooked this year because Devils has been a huge supporter of her.

Vaniity wont be overlooked because she did some great work for Defiance and for Belladonna.

Gia wont be overlooked because she is the reigning and history the girls always come back for a nom plus she has done alot of work with variety this year.

Joanna though hasnt had alot of releases her history and quality of work will get her a deserved nom.

Thanx for the input on the AVN award process, Wendy. Very different from what I've experienced via the WSFS Awards. They are nominated by the general populace (The annual convention membership that can vary from 2-6000) and then voted on by same. The final vote is via 'Australian' ballot where each person can choose several or all of the nominees in an ascending order and then there is a ballot count that takes first the primary choices, then the second, and so on. Whoever (Or whatever title) gets a majority, wins. The majority, however, may not come out in the first ballot count (One may get 100 votes on the first and a thousand on the second, for 1100, while a competitor gets 500 on the first and 400 on the second for 900). It's bizarre, but it works.

Defiance is going out of business... I wouldn't hold any of their releases as something the AVN cares about despite all the fan fair of "big name" girls with TS. Vaniity got paid $6000 for that movie. Not a bad piece of change but from what I hear she had the only good performances on that tape.

The girls with the video lines always nominate themselves. That is pretty sad. I mean seriously... I love Gia, but it's not like any other company could have nominated her but her own. A lot of the nominees trend this way. In the TS world, that's just how it works. The same girls will get nominated every year because they nominate themselves, they nominate their friend who gives them a recipricol nomination (just so it looks legit), or they just perform better and get a real nomination from a company they work for.

I think some of the AVN judges really watch the movies and like the girls involved. I got approached by 3-4 at the Evil Angel booth the year I won who knew exactly who I was and were pre-congratulating me. They also knew Vaniity... and I am sure anyone who knows TS stuff knows Gia.
