View Full Version : Widening Interests In Male Alternative Sexuality?

In the past 20 years since the advent of the consumer internet, I've seen TS/TV porn go from a few mags and titles in bookstores burried in the gay section to complete sections rivaling straight or even larger then gay sections in video rentals. While the availablitity of the internet and alternative lifestyle acceptance/tolerance has changed, the exponential growth of alternative sexuality interests among men seems disproportionate. There's been a lot of talk recently about men simply giving up on women. Again to clarify, I have no dog in this race. I'm not pro MRA/MGTOW nor side with 3rd wave feminism. Both have radical aspects. Yet, if one caught the past weeks news cycle, the two articles about the male "Sexodus" was very telling as it went mainstream news and became an intense topic of debate. Nobody can now dismiss that men are simply opting out of dating or interacting with women for so many reasons that have more to do with cultural change and economics then anything else. The numbers prove it and women are now starting to really get concerned to the point they're lashing out against feminism and at the same time shaming men for not "manning up" Men are going Galt. Simple cost to benefit assessment reasoning women aren't worth it if we are to believe the pundits and social theorists. Same has happened in Japan although for some different reasons also because of the economy. Robotics, VR, easy access to porn, hook-up culture are enough to satisfy men apparently to not commit to relationships. So, what I'm wondering about is if TS/TV porn and escorts are being amplified by this effect. Are more liberally minded young men more ready to accept either a bi or alternative lifestyle out of facultative neccessity? Many even don't want to bother with Cis Fem sex workers simply because they don't know how or are intimidated to communicate with them due to poor socialization. Are we seeing now a sexuality shift that's bringing men closer to other men or TS/TV's and perhaps the driving force behind this growth?

'Are we seeing now a sexuality shift that's bringing men closer to other men or TS/TV's...'

Penis. You mean is it now OK for men to like penis. It's OK. You can say it. It's just a word.

I know you didn't mean anything by it, but you putting men, TV, and TS all in the same sentence made me cringe a little.

Nothing was meant by it. I'm just trying to see if there is a correlation to alternative heternormativity that also includes solo/vr sexual activities as new technology emerges. If you read between my lines, I'm sort of trying to see if we're also seeing if network theory fits and is driving this.

I've taken heat for this before, but I do agree that many men are giving up on women/dating. I have a sex partner, so I don't have to worry about this for myself, but I know a number of guys that simply don't date. They have literally no way to approach a woman without seeming creepy, so they don't bother.

This is exacerbated by a number of women taking the attitude that ANY means of approaching a woman is offensive. (I'm a feminist, but I'm annoyed by some of the posts I find in my facebook feed from feminist groups, tearing into guys for daring to express interest in a woman).

Now as to whether or not this causes guys to seek alternative sexual interests, I don't know. Perhaps if they're a bit bi to start off with, they may, but I don't think a completely straight guy will resort to that. He'll just occupy his mind with other things, and his dick with masturbation.

All those things you mentioned are part of it. There was a google talk, linked to somewhere in this forum that revealed one of the top porn searches for heterosexual men was "shemale" porn. Now before the sexual identity warriors get on their high horse, the same study found that gay men had little to no interest at all in this type of porn and only slightly more for bi guys If you want to start that tired old debate again, please start your own thread cos that's not really what the OP was asking.

The internet has changed everything and sex is no exception. From a young age we are now exposed to a greater variety of sex and sexuality that previous generations could even imagine. Add to that the wider acceptance of that variety as the older more conservative generations die off (which is a good thing and not happening soon enough if you ask me) and kids today being far more liberal.

I don't know that feminists are changing guys minds per se, but the current feminazi crusades are most certainly leading to an era where it's almost socially unacceptable for men to show any interest in women lest they be branded as part of the "patriarchy" and a potential rapist. Then there's those absurd divorce laws in the US...

In some ways I think the internet is actually bringing about the kind of social change that the radicals were hoping for in the 60's. It's impossible to even imagine what sort of social and/or sexual conventions will be out in the open and accepted another generation from now. The way information and communication technology is snowballing? Who the hell knows, but I do think that as long as the conservative religious right are kept in check in the future (or even better eradicated completely) there's a very different sexual future in store.

And I'll probably be too old to enjoy it.
Bah humbug!

I don't date gg-women anymore. I can't afford dating and they were boring me anyway. I always felt like I had to convince them to try things, and I just aren't into putting in that effort anymore. I since found that I like cock. I'm more excited about bdsm too, and becoming more queer.
