If they don't offer downloads then don't download it... I'm pointing trans500 to this thread... Grooby has everyone's IP so they'll know who to look for.

You don't come to an industry board looking for 'work arounds'. Not while I'm in the business.

I joined once and quickly cancelled when I realised there was no download option. I don't upload stuff onto torrent sites - I just like to keep a high quality video on my computer. All the other sites I have joined offer a download.

And what are they going to do? Sue for "downloading" something he would have paid for?

He wasnt looking for workarounds, he was looking for information IF he can download. If he were a "pirate" he would know how to save streams. It is really not hard.

But nice to know that you jump to absolutely silly conclusions based on nothing...

Just save you the trouble, the next time you need all the information about a particular site, check out Rabbit Reviews. They will let you know if its a streaming only site.

just sad! don't you have anything better to do than complain about what a paying customer of another site may want to do with the product and services he purchased.

to the OP...if you can stream it, you can download it. trans500 is merely protecting their stuff from those that would just click 1 button, steal all their stuff and share it illegally. the idea is that with the added step of having to figure out how to do it, they feel it is less likely to appear on tube/torrents sites.

Whether they are right or not is irrelevant because it is what they do. I don't check out tube sites because the quality is usually terrible so i can't say for sure if their method works. i am a paying member of trans500 and have no legal or ethical objection to saving my favorite scenes.

Below is what the Trans500 terms and conditions say. I'm not a lawyer, but I can't see how this would preclude a subscriber downloading for their own use.

I understand where Jamie is coming from on this - but in the case of a company providing downloads only (like Trans500) I disagree that somebody being able to download, should be frowned upon that much.

Putting streaming only into a membership site is more about encouraging people to remain a member rather than discourage piracy as pirates would certainly be able to rip the content, even if it was behind a stronger encryption software. It's just a business decision - and you can't blame people for wanting to download and watch the content at their own time and speed. There is nothing illegal about paying for content and then keeping it to re-use at a future date.

In my view, you can't treat every customer as a pirate and you should be encouraging them to continue to be a happy (paying) customer.
