Hello everyone,
This post is a call of awareness & help.
Three years ago, a good friend & lovely girl took her own life, Bridget. She used to post here under bridgetbbyxo and was well loved. I met her through here & became friends with her beyond the boards. She was a great person with an amazing personality and plenty of greatness looking forward. But even the greatest people have their doubts. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of her in some way. I wish to this day I could have done more to help her overcome her demons.
As most people (should) know, suicide is one of the leading causes of death in America, even more so in the Transgender community. A good amount of girls & women believe that it is the only way to relieve themselves of the pain, stress & anguish they are suffering. It is our job as friends, family, allies & human beings in general to help anyone, regardless of preference, orientation, background or ideals, that feels that suicide is the answer. It is not.
I have been friends with Bridget's sister since she has passed and she asked me to share here that Bridget's mother has started a donation fund drive (http://afsp.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=564794) in honor of her daughter through the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention to bring awareness as well as the affect suicide has on everyone & help prevent future cases. She will also walk at the WalkOut of the Darkness Community Walk in support. Any gesture towards this will help benefit the AFSP. Help save a life.

Much Luv.
