View Full Version : Is Porn Changing Us?

Let's ask ourselves these questions.

Are our attitudes and behaviors towards other people changing?
Do we still value intimacy and bonding together?
Do we find ourselves looking for ever more kinky porn?
Have we become disinterested with people offline, even to the point of avoiding or ignoring them for fear of absolute boredom or because they are interfering with our selfish plans?
Is it getting harder to stay focused on a task or activity without procrastinating?
If we close our eyes can we write a creative story or paint a pretty picture or compose a song in our minds? Or have we lost our creative spark long ago?

Let's take a look at some of these videos. I found them interesting and I know I have suffered a few of these effects.

I noticed at an early age that sometimes when I was with a girl and wanted to have sex that sometimes I would lose my erection. It was embarrassing whenever it happened because the girl would think I am not attracted to her. A few years ago I came to realize that it was because I was masturbating at least once daily. And if I went just 3-4 days without touching myself then I never had any problem keeping my erection when the time came for sex.

At this stage in life I feel that I use view porn in a balance with everything else. But is that still too much?
These videos seem to think so.

Let's discuss the effect that porn and internet use has on us.

That's a really broad op!

Do we still value intimacy and bonding together?

That's kinda vague.
Do you mean on a personal level, or group level?
And "Do we still", implies we ever have.

Do we find ourselves looking for ever more kinky porn?

Define Kinky.

Is it getting harder to stay focused on a task or activity without procrastinating?

I was going to answer this earlier, but....
No, i don't believe so (well, not because of porn).

If we close our eyes can we write a creative story or paint a pretty picture or compose a song in our minds? Or have we lost our creative spark long ago?

Really?

I almost can't believe this question is being asked...

Of course porn is changing us, and we could talk about the many ways but here's on example...years ago in most cultures fertility was what made someone a sought after partner now with the internet porn and dildos size Is more important to people.

Sounds like feminist propaganda.

Porn may have open a new world of sexuality, but at the same it desensitized us leading us to desire harder porn and alter attitudes toward body perception. It made us need more of it and newer things for us to be happy. It allowed women to understand the idea of orgasm and allow people to explore their own sexuality and open the door open discussions about it. It has open the door to fantasies while opening the door to more stereotypes and racism. In the end it has be both good and bad.

Yes, I was assuming that we have all been intimate at some point. The internet porn phenomenon is still relatively new and I'm hoping that there isn't anybody answering to this post who is too young to remember what life was like without the internet.

For kinky porn I would say branching further and further away from the porn that you began with. Possibly to the point where ethics are coming into question. However if you began with something like rape porn then I don't know lol.
And on the last point, it was mentioned that creativity could be affected aswell.

I love naked bodies, porn and the internet. Real people that's a different story. I prefer not to interact with anyone unless they have the same hobbies and interest as I do. "Birds of a feather flock together". I know what I miss and don't miss. Oh well. Get over it.

"Do we find ourselves looking for ever more kinky porn?"

Yes, I would say that I got bored with regular porn
and got into TS porn (I guess that explains why i'm here
and why I have a bunch of pics of TS pornstars on my iPod..lol)
But TS porn would be the kinkiest porn I would get into.
Some of the other types of porn I couldn't get into,
Bondage (No), Scat (Hell no), Gay (I watched half of one to see
what kind of arousal i would get out of it and it did nothing for me, so Hell no)

As far as porn affecting relationships and causing us to become disinterested in people, I know people who can't live without facebook. I get in line at the grocery store or Walmart all the time behind people who can't pay for their purchases for talking on their phone. I have had had two cars totaled because of talking ( or texting) and driving. Obsession or fanaticism is bad regardless of what you are obsessed with.

As with the reply above, Straight porn And T-Girl porn are as far as my porn interests go. I think sex is a beautiful thing, and I love to watch it. It has not squelched my creativity. If any thing it has enhanced it. I am an artist and porn hasn't stopped me from being an artist. There are far worse things in the entertainment world than porn, like excessive violence. I know " The Walking Dead' has a legion of fans, and I'll make people mad here, but I'd rather watch a beautiful girl ( or T- Girl ) suck a big cock than see someone get their throat ripped out.

Are our attitudes and behaviors towards other people changing?:

No. I always couldn't stand most people to begin with.

Do we still value intimacy and bonding together?:

Yes. Its just that I haven't had any luck with online dating and/or meeting women in general.

Do we find ourselves looking for ever more kinky porn?:

Yes. But to be fair, I have always looked at kinky porn and even more so in the past few years since I started exploring my submissive side.

Have we become disinterested with people offline, even to the point of avoiding or ignoring them for fear of absolute boredom or because they are interfering with our selfish plans?:

No. Although I have always been a bit anti-social.

Is it getting harder to stay focused on a task or activity without procrastinating?:

No.

If we close our eyes can we write a creative story or paint a pretty picture or compose a song in our minds? Or have we lost our creative spark long ago?:

I was into creative writing when I was in high school. But me losing interest in it had nothing to do with porn. Also to be fair, how many people can say they can actually write a creative story, paint a picture, or compose a song?

I will say that I have lost the ability to masturbate without visual stimulation. It has to be videos too. While I can be turned on by many of photos that are posted on this site, I can't climax to them.

I really like this. Porn has influenced you in a very positive way. You are able to draw inspiration from it and appreciate it as an art form.
Very nice comparisons to other compulsive behaviors aswell.

I wouldnt necessarily use the word 'changed' but it can uncover deeper recesses of your sexuality that you otherwise would be unaware of

I'm pretty sure that if I hadnt been a regular porn watcher/user then I would never have discovered the strong sexual attraction I have for petite, big hard cocked, feminine, and especially Asian, ladyboys

That aspect of my sexuality would probably have remained dormant my entire life, had I not accidentally encountered the TS porn I did and my strong, surprising reaction (surprising to me) to it

Depends.....I think to men, no.

Teens, yes. I was a teen in the 90s, and even then without (largely) Web porn we used to think amongst my friends that porn was like real sex. And this is probably worse now with pervasive Web porn, and not just VHS or CD-ROMs like in the 1990s.

If porn is seen as just that...porn, then no problem. I think once people reach their 20s though, they should realise just because porn depicts sex, doesn't mean it's a realistic interpretation of it. FIFA 14 on Playstation or PC depicts football, but not a realistic interpretation.

I'd also say porn to me is just entertainment, and based largely on fantasy for me. With GG porn, I actually prefer amateur porn, as it better reflects real sex. So amateur man and woman, I imagine it's me fucking her in a real setting.

TS porn is largely fantasy, and some degree reality, but only fantasy because TSs aren't that common where I live now. Kind of like watching a woman as hot as say Mia Isabella or Angeles Cid sucking my cock and fucking me, and getting spurred on to meet such a hot TS in real life.

I could not agree more with Yasminleefan! It is strange and disturbing to me, that it is acceptable to have every neighborhood in the US, what murder and violence on TV each night, and then go to the movies to see more of it on the weekend, but sex is restricted secretive viewing material.

Porn only breaks people who were cracked in the first place.

To add on,
I wouldn't say porn has changed me.
Because for me, it is just entertainment.
I would say it has made a little more open
in what turns me on or what I would get off to, because 16 year old me
would have been disgusted by the thought of
getting off to TS porn (I was pretty trans-phobic in my teen years)
older me doesn't give a damn and I get off just
as gleefully to Eva Lin or Sarina Valentina as I would Asa Akira or Lisa Ann.

I would say the Internet in general has more to do with the change than the actual content itself. We have everything so readily available these days and it's instant access.

No more delayed gratification and working for the results.
