Sponsor a tranny!

If $500 will pay for the tranny (ouch) of your choice to appear on the Tranny Awards show - o shit no - to get a lady of your choice to appear on the Tranny Awards - fuckit TEA show - o bugger. (A I being decisively incorrect here?)

Is $500 enough to get Nikka on a plane for the TEA Awards? I'd cough up the cash, though I doubt Nikka would move her ass for that. Mind you, if it worked, I would have to be guaranteed to see it on live stream. Last year was a fail.

Myself and fellow degenerates have done tables past few years, this year we thought instead of just a table lets put the money towards the girls and see if we can name our own award...if we are able to do so! Plus "The Degenerate of the year!" Award sounds pretty damn interesting don't you think?

maybe you went to a party in an alternate universe.
I had a great time...most of the people were really, really cool..(maybe it's the mellow California vibe...I dunno). Met the degenerates who treated me really nice ...especially when you consider none of them have ever really met me before. Steven was very gracious...and most of the girls that I said "Hi" to were willing to converse.
Generally people will treat you as you treat them, I've always found.

The ts girls who were nominated shouldn't even be nominated......I do not find domino , foxy whatever her name is , and not to be rude just my own thoughts I donot find either of them attracted ....... Hazel and Brittany have always gotten screwed due to politics at the awards........men normally go to ts because they want someone open and not so stuck up which is so sad cause know days tgirls have attitudes which is such a turn off.......WHEre are all the passable tgirls :; (. So what should we put as the dress code this year? For boys and girls?
Business casual...although you know most of the gals will already have on gowns or cocktail dresses. Quite a few of the fellas will have on suits as well...like me of course. I treat the awards as what it actually is: a special event we don't get to have too often.

As for the afterparty, casual should do.

Except for a few "guests" in particular, I found all of the girls most accommodating. Then again it depends on how you approach them. Even though the awards are for what they've done on screen and in print doesn't give anyone the right to go up to them without any respect.

Giving I was actually "working" during both the ceremony and the afterparty, I still had a blast...as well as the majority of the crowd there. You were obviously in the minority.

Nah, you're strongly in the majority. I can't remember meeting "Coolboy" or if he was even there (I suspect not) but he is wrong on so many levels. I had dozens of PM's and messages on how friendly and easy going the event was and how good the girls were to meet. I saw first hand guys approaching girls to say Hi and/or get a photo taken. Who can remember the year before Sarina, sitting on the guy in the motorized wheelchair's lap?

Coolboy already had a moan after the show - and honestly, the attitude must be with you as it seems like the issue was unique to yourself. I do agree that there were problems with the afterparty, in which everyone really wanted to socialize outside and not so interested in the club/dancing side of things, so we've rectified that this year and invested in having "The TEA Party" in a fantastic venue which will allow mingling, networking, photo ops and more.

Just because YOU don't find Domino or Foxxy attractive, doesn't mean they weren't the best performers of that year, the judging panel if made of 6 people from different parts of the industry. You assertion that "Hazel got screwed because of politics" shows how out of touch you are, given that she completely cleaned up one year winning I believe 3 awards in one night. I'm not sure which Brittany to whom you are referring? Brittany Markham, won the Strokers award one year but I haven't seen her do much work in the last few years.

So it seems like you are not only a Gringe but also, just incorrect. I look forward to not seeing you this year, but encourage everyone with a positive outlook and who really want to get to meet many of the girls, to get their arses along.

You're still wrong? Domino I don't think won anything at the last awards. Brittany St.Jordan hadn't even worked in the last year so wasn't eligible to win anything. There were a LOT MORE girls this year than previous years and more people, which is why we've had to move, pretty much every nominee was there and more.
Hotel parties? There weren't any.
You weren't there were you?

I personally found your post offending. I think I looked hot and I spoke to each and every person who approached me just to talk or take a photo with me. I even signed a napkin which was different but still kind of the gentlemen to ask me. I felt an overwhelming feeling of welcoming from everyone. Did you try and talk to me?

This was my first time attending the awards. I did not know what to expect or what other years had been like. So I can only speak on what I saw. Amazing talent, tons of hard work and a group of people both fans and pros who were very friendly and nonjudgmental. Being from Toronto where most girls are always in competition and back stabbing each other. This was a welcoming change for me. I saw nothing but open arms for a really unknown from Canada.

I agree with Steven that it might have been your approach to the girls. Did you think of that? Because if you approach them like you have with your comments here. That would be the reason why they were not as welcoming as you would like. But to imply that there was no “Hot Girls” at the events is crazy talk. I was wowed by some of these beautiful ladies. You should also think that we all have feelings and saying what you have said more than likely you have insulted lots of us girls. Is that what your intentions where?

You also have to maybe step back and give respect to the people who have put their heart and soul into this event. It is a ton of hard work that goes into making this happen. Months of planning. Organizing an event is hard but to organize two different events must have been very stressful. Not to mention the money it cost for everyone between hotels, flights and dresses. I myself spent almost 2K just to make my way there from Canada. It was the best 2k I could have spent.

Now they are changing things up for this year’s event. Maybe be more supportive and respectful to all girls not just your favorites. Maybe show respect to the people who put this award show on. Because guess what, they do not have to do it. It is not like this is making them money, it costs them money. If not for Grooby us girls would not have an award show that respects us and rewards us for our hard work.

Support not hate!

If someone didn't have fun at the events it's THEIR fault, not everyone else. Every person I talked to said they were having a blast, and half of them were there for the first time.

Except for that one girl (Steven you know who) and that production company, everyone also had some manners.

And yes Tasha, you looked smashing and I'm glad you were in attendance.

Great read!

Been a long while since I was on here and this is my first post since I chose to take a break from this forum.

Had to put in my two cents. I had a great time. Everyone I spoke with ( other models, industry folks, AND fans ) were very nice and courteous. I even let a guy massage my feet after asking if he could and he also asked to take a few photos, to which I obliged.

The ONLY person THERE that was a totally drunken, twat asshole was Bianca "The Destroyer" Khan. Whom of which I avoided, knowing who and what she is, and again, she was piss pot drunk.

The notion that there aren't any "passable" and "good-looking" girls nowadays, and that most girls at the awards were not appealing, is the most ignorant and disrespectful thing to say. I was jones'n for many of the girls there. I am with Steven, when he keeps asking if you were honestly there. AND if you were, you must be deaf, dumb, and blind.

Perhaps you are "The Destroyer" incognito here? LOL

I am absolutely looking forward to the next upcoming Awards.

As I have been a part of the awards for years I have to say last year was the best. And FYI i was just in nyc for 2mths and every tranny party I went to was DEAD! So dont think ur answer is in NYC its everywhere.

I am excited for this year, I love meeting the girls and having fun. And getting to work with Grooby on the event has been a thrill for me. Best staff in the world to put on an event. Even I got to socialize before I had to work and met lots of fans and signed autographs. Even met some amazing ladies. Its the event of all events and I cant wait for this years one. My fav moments were hanging out with Joanna Jet, Jordan Jay, Amber and the FTM boyz!

Perfectly said. Although I have not attended any other porn event or convention, I had the impression that it would be competitive and not particularly respectful to the women. It seemed amazingly supportive of the women and they know their best asset is women that enjoy what they are doing. It is a huge amount of work for them and they deserve so much thanks for making it such a success.

Hello there, I'm a long-time lurker and infrequent poster but would like to attend next year's awards show. From what I can gleam from previous posts, the TEA have changed from being an industry-centric event to a more inclusive and celebratory gathering. While there is still work to be done, the progress that activists have made in terms of changing public attitude towards trans people and raising issues of human rights have been remarkable. It feels like next yea's event will be bigger due to the progress that has been made. I definitely like to take part and meet new and interesting people.

I do have some questions and wondering if anyone could answer them. Where in LA should I book a hotel? Should it be close the venue or should I chose somewhere nice like Santa Monica? Also, I'm not going to lie but I'm bit nervous about attending. I'm coming in from Boston and I don't know any of the other attendees. I'm sure it's ok to go stag but should I have a name tags with my HA username? Is that creepy..probably? I'm sure everyone is friendly and my social concerns are overblown.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to meeting some of you next February!

The show has NEVER been an industry type show, so I'm not sure where you've gotten that information from, it's always been a celebration of the models and for fans to meet with them. I don't think the "transactivists" have much to do with this show, it's specically aimed at those into (or in) the adult industry and although we're inclusive of all areas of adult trans* productions, we're not really aiming to be a soap box for anything other than that.
Check online for the area of where Avalon is at (Hollywood) and see what hotels are around that area although it's easy enough to get to. Plenty of people come by themselves but I think it should be easy enough (closer to the date) to arrange to meet some people there so you can meet before and come together or have a face to look for upon arrival. We'll see what we can do to recommend a social event before the show.
You def. should not where a name tag!

Thanks Steven (or do you prefer Mr. Grooby?) for responding to my questions and providing some clarity regarding the event. I suppose I'll have to wait to see if any meet ups will be organized prior to the awards show. I recall - though I may be mistaken - Ed Jaxon organized a pre-event last year.

One last note, my line about activism was an attempt - perhaps a poor one - at not appearing creepy. I've never been to awards show such as this and wanted to construe something positive. Chalk it up to me being young and naive (still in my 20s).

Cheers!

While I appreciate the thought, I did not organize the pre-festivities. That was all Buddy, Steven and his talented band of merry makers. I simply attended.

And if I did not say it before, thank you to all those who made the entire weekend fucking incredible. I can only imagine the amount of work it took.

Same here, brother...RD would've won best dressed male if there was such an award. I've gotta step it up next year haha!

Meh, I'm thinking of stepping it down and wearing my Pearl Harbor Hawaiian shirt & crocs next year ...

Seeing Ed, Ben, Radius, Irv and so many other guys in their best was amazing. I just wore a sport coat and felt under dressed but OK.

I think looking your best tells the women that it is a big deal and you are really appreciating their accomplishments.

I too simply attended and it was great to meet you, Ben, Fred, Steven, Scott, Buddy and the many women. I would love to know if there is anything or anyway I can help. Truly a bucket list incredible weekend.

I sensed it was the woman being themselves and making it a huge celebration and networking social. As Steven noted no soap boxes there nor needed. Actually it was quite real, normal people with little pretense.

I found last year that Tgirl Tuesday, Club Cobra, Shine, the Awards, and the afterparty made the trip quite busy. What you do when there makes the difference. Be a gentleman and not pushy and you will probably do fine.

Lol your just upset domino cause it's the truth I have been to the last 3 awards this was by far the worst ...,,,,,, as for performers of the year is concerned I would say Brittany Jordan should have gotten it cause it really shows that she takes her work seriously and enjoy wat she does........there were a lot more ts girls in the previous show .....a lot more beer we and friendlier ones from NYC ......,the awards need more girls .......,no hotel parties ........etc

Like Steven said, I was off the grid last year so there is really no reason for my name to on any nominee lists last year or this year. With no membership site and no DVD scenes there is nothing out there to be nominated for. I'm only doing cam shows these days so if there is a category for that then cool beans. Otherwise, the girls who have worked their asses off deserve those spots this year.

It's just east of this place made famous in different movies, especially Clueless. Just don't park your car there to attend the club!
