Found a great classic clip of Maury. Referring to trans as "men" instead of transgender or transsexuals isn't right, but this is a really old clip. I've always said you can't tell an average GG from a trans model in a regular setting and I think this proves it.

Believe it or not her high school picture at 34:30 looks amazingly similar my high school picture.

What a disgusting freak show - everything that we should hate.

Changing the subject, how are you Lily? You're not on here much and it would be nice to have an update of how you look these days. Trust you're well in any case.

I'm normally pretty good...mainly because I recognize many of the girls haha.

I know this show is degrading, but whenever one of these episodes come on I watch. Sorry.

Maury's shows about transwomen are only slightly less degrading than Jerry's shows but all the same, trash TV.

That said, I've seen many of these shows and usually never been wrong about the girls because, as said above, i usually know who they are before.

there are also these crass quizzes too

I don't think this was degrading. It seemed to be in a professional matter. You have to remember this was probably shot like 20 years ago. Most people didn't know to refer to them as transsexuals. They all agreed to go on his show and probably for them to release old pictures of themselves before their transition.

This is what isn't acceptable:

Jerry Springer - Guess what..I'm a man! - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJRqasnq7Ec)

These scripted scenarios are addictive though. People must be watching if Jerry has been around for decades. I watch him too if I see a show on.

I can't stand that sort of knowingly exploitative car-crash TV. Thankfully all we get in the UK these days is the utterly repellent Jeremy Kyle, but that's bad enough.

And you said it yourself, people must be watching, so it's all about ratings and not about taste. They'd queue up to watch live executions as well.

i did attend a taping of maury when i was 18. i really wanted it to be a show about tgirls but it was the standard paternity test show when i was in attendance. it was boring!

for the first few years, ages 14-20 or so, of me learning about transgender issues and trying to understand why i was so interested in transwomen, i have to admit that i watched as much of this type of trash tv as i could because at the time, (early 90s), it was the best i could do.

I've known a few girls who got invited to go on and sought my advice about weather they should do it. I always told them don't do it... that it's a cartoonish freak show that mocks transgendered people . They always did it anyway. The lure of television I guess.

yup....many of the GG's have gotten fat at fuck!
I mean moon faced tank assed muffin top messes with attitude twice that of an over the hill drag queen!
Why? Can't you?

this is a 2 way street and i think all my errors have been in misidentifying ggirls. i have misidentified a a tgirl was a ggirl...my t-radar is usually on point...but i have mistaken 2 ggirls for tgirls in my life. they looked, sounded and acted a bit less feminine than i would have expected so it was an honest mistake.

springer is equally appalling and awesome at the same time. to have become so wealthy exploiting the ugly side of human nature for an audience that thinks its reality is an great accomplishment in my book.

That's because it's exceedingly easy to sell stupidity on daytime TV.

ah, america. springer succeeds because of the genius of his marketing combined with the stupidity of our people

springer is a true cultural sodomite. remember the episode about the guy that married a horse? that guy (in real life) actually did marry a horse. i saw on a documentary about beastality and he was like "yep. i was on jerry springer"

I think a lot of it has to do with context. Put girls like Sarina, Bailey or Melissa Carmen in a regular social environment, and they are flat out not going to get clocked by anyone who doesn't know them.

Those Male or Female shows that Maury used to do is how I was introduced to transwomen. Looking back, perhaps they were offensive, but its not like the girls were blindsided once they came out. Its not like they thought they were coming on a show that discussed transgendered issues and acceptance in society while wearing an evening gown.

there was a time when some of the girls would advertise that they had appeared on such tv shows as jerry springer and maury. i think that was supposed to convince the chaser they were "celebrities"

btw: springer has retired using the word tranny on his show (http://www.tmz.com/2014/03/24/jerry-springer-tranny-video-transgender/)

Yeah I can remember some past girls on this site, that stated they were going to be on Maury. Can't remember who though. If I was a trans female, I wouldn't be going on those kind of shows. Just my opinion, but to each their own.
