I walk up and push it since half the time people rely on others to push the button and it was never pushed at all before the light changed. Being how passive and trusting people are it should be not be considered rude.

In England it is considered ill-advised to handle a knob touched by so many so one always gets one's man to do it on one's behalf...

I always wondered what those WALK signs were for.

It's a good thing escorts don't have the same rule, rodinuk.

Dino, I always hit it. In my experience, about 90% of the time nobody has done it. I noticed this myself and started watching, hitting the button after the traffic light turned if the walk sign didn't show.

It's like everything else on the west side-

privileged fucks who expect that someone else will attend to their needs, or oblivious fucks who never had to do anything and are functionally retarded on a menial level.

Well, about 90% of them, anyway.

dude, not so much at stoplights cuz a person might not know which way youre going or if youre just chillin but damn if that doesnt grind my gears when it happens at an elevator and im standing there watching the lights move. Is it really necessary to roll up on me and start thumb fucking the button like its gonna make the elevator come any faster?

In Vegas u don't need to because someone stands there and keeps pushing it like it will change the light everytime they push it. Hate it! LOL

Rules are meant to be broken and anarchy is beautiful to me. I just momma duck it. I walk across when it looks safe. Every passive person on the corner like fools who forgot to push it, they usually follow my lead.

I don't bother with it...I just go!!!

I push the button repeatedly... with the clearly spurious notion that the more pushes the sooner the crossing light will change. Total crap of course.

Try lecturing and shaming it enough the next time to see if you can make it change its color.

Yes I do. Yet I guess I'm a bit of a hypocrite. Had to apologize to someone at work because they got in elevator and hit the same button I had already pushed. I told them when the light is lit up they don't need to hit it again because it will only go to that floor once. They were offended and I apologized later and told them I'm not the type of person to make comments like that.

But in the case of the walk button you have no proof that the nimrod hit the button. So, I think you're right to hit it again.

In fact, on second thought maybe it would be more polite to say, "did you hit the button, or are you just standing there with your thumb up your ass"? Then if they look offended say, "I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being rude by hitting the button when you've already hit it."

Most of those buttons don't do shit, at least in my area. A few actually work.

:iagree:Probably a good practice , perhaps a carry- over from the Plagues?
All we need is a "man" , or Ladyboy.
