tsroadmap.com is an older, yet still valuable site for those considering/starting transition. I found it of great use back when I was coming out and getting started with transition in at the start of 2006.

For anyone in the Southern California area, the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center has a whole branch dedicated to Trans resources. This is the link for the Medical portion of things, but they offer counseling, legal resources, name/gender change, the works. If you live in LA you can get financial assistance and even if you don't they work with you on what you can afford.

if you are a trans person who is homeless, housing unstable, or in need of emergency shelter you can contact me via email (rebeka.refuse@gmail.com) because i co-moderate a website dedicated to helping trans people in that situation but dont feel comfortable posting the link to it here.

In the Kansas City area, Dr. Bell at St. Luke's Northland Hospital is an endocrinologist who does informed consent for trans folks. Go there for hormones and you won't have to jump thru hoops. Dr Cynthia Glass is also great for trans patients. There's also the LikeMe Lighthouse, which is an LGBT community center. Best I can do for the KC area :/
