Tranny Awards Ticketing & Red Carpet Policy!

Just to clarify how the ticketing works for this years Tranny Awards.

We have two events running.

Sun 16th Feb : The Tranny Awards, Beyond the Stars Palance, Glendale. Time to be confirmed but it will be earlier than last year as we're starting with a cocktail hour (or two) to warm up for the awards.

Mon 17th Feb : The Tranny Awards Celebration Party, Hollywood (Melrose Blvd.) which will be hopefully entertainment, dancers and mingling, drinking, partying.

Both events are ticketed or you can pay at the door.
Nominees only in the models category get ONE complimentary ticket to each event. The models categories are:
Best New Face, Best Solo Model, Best Hardcore Model, Best Alt. Model, Voluptuous Diva, Best Non-TS, Best Foreign and Best FTM.

Tickets are non-transferrable (ie; only for that nominee).

If you are a nominee and plan to attend then you must email kristel@grooby.com to get your tickets.

Only nominees will be allowed on the red carpet/media wall unless previously arranged.

Tickets for both events can be bought from : http://www.trannyawards.com/tickets/ - there is a very reasonable price for both tickets of only $40 if bought in advance. This is much cheaper than last year which I believe would have cost $65 for both events.

We do not run The Tranny Awards as a profit making event but do hope to cover our expenses. Most of this is covered by sponsors but also the ticket sales help cover our costs also.
Please do not be offended if we're unable to offer you a complimentary ticket.

PS - we have extra chairs and seating at this years event and we should also have more bar staff working, so hopefully that will solve the main complaints from last year.

As someone who can't attend, a lot of the fun was the red carpet interviews and photos. From memory 'not nominated' would have cut out a lot of red carpet folks at Awards V, like newbie Kim Bella.

I can only remember 2 or maybe 3 that got on the red carpet when perhaps they should not. Perhaps.

I'm not allowed to see the live stream cos I'm outside the US. Maybe the highlight video had lots of non-celebs cut out, but it seemed to match up well with the photos.

Let me see - how WOULD I get rid of 30 to 40.

Idea 1. Chop John Ed´s extravagant entourage. :yayo: They were fun!

Idea 2. Prune the UP Network to a mere Tempest. :yayo: They were fun!

Idea 3. Chop the sponsors, like Hannah. :yayo: Nope, ye canna chop the sponsors, laddie.

Idea 4. Chop the guys accompanying the girls. Looks like a runner, but hey, it makes it look like your nominees can't get an escort for the evening. Plus, those guys simply got a "Who are you?" from Morgan before a swift move on. They are simply there to prove the ladies are highly desirable. So that's another :yayo:

Idea 5. Cut down the number of gorgeous girls in glamorous gowns. Chop all the ladies who look tasty as the best eye-candy ever? Seanchai, do you remember drooling over the TA V gowns? It was the strongest point of TA V. So that's surely a :yayo: The photogs who missed out on Kandii Redd at TA V need to be told "GET ALL THE GORGEOUS GIRLS IN GLAMOROUS GOWNS". Mind you, she was another current nominee who wouldn't have been permitted on the red carpet at TA V under your new rule, 'cos she another one who wasn't a nominee at TA V. Merely up now for Best New Face at TA 6.

I do hope the new red carpet will be as interesting as the last one. Why? Penny Tyler. No nominations at TA V as too new, but appeared on the red carpet. Up for Best New Face at TA 6 and a strong contender.

Why prune people like Kim, Kandii and Penny? :yayo:

It was broken - which is why it's being fixed. I'm all up for feedback but you weren't there so your feedback isn't really relevant, you only saw the feed from Morgan interviewing.

Seanchai has a point. The red carpet was supposed to go on for a specific amount of time, but pretty much ran over. That's probably one of the things he's trying to curb.

The City of Glendale requested the red carpet shoot be over at a certain time. Hell, we weren't even allowed to snap pics out on the street; that's how strict THEY were. Considering the amount of cameras that were there, this wasn't too much of a problem.

I don't remember seeing Kandii Redd. Maybe she came after they closed the red carpet. Domino did the same thing.

After shooting the red carpet (Smith gets the pics after the interviews), I'll be all around until the show starts. Then I'll try and focus on getting pics of the winners as they hold their trophies after getting interviewed since Smith and others will be shooting the stage.

And I don't drink cocktails; the only times I was at the bar were to get the girls who had to present awards.

If the girls are not nominated but want to walk on the red carpet they can pre arrange, I actually think its a good idea. Not everyone deserves to walk the red carpet. I saw some people last year on the red carpet and was like wtf??
