Detectives break up alleged Craigslist prostitution ring

Detectives arrested five people, including a Roosevelt woman, as they broke up an alleged prostitution ring that soliciated clients through Craigslist's Web site, Nassau police said.
The Narcotics/Vice Bureau arrested four women and a man over the last two days at motels in Jericho and Plainview. One of the women arrested, Shaneesa White, 21, of 5436 Glen Haven Dr. in College Park, Georgia, was with her 4-year-old daughter at the time, police said.
The Roosevelt woman, Ebony Gilreath, 21, of 15 Valdur Ct., was arrested at 2:48 p.m. on Tuesday at a motel in Plainview, police said.
Also arrested were Claudinette Rodriguez, 38, of 620 Jefferson Ave. in Miami Beach, Fla., Victoria Finley, 21, of 713 W. Kaley Ave. in Orlando, Fla., and Keith Cowan, 23, of 110 Sandpiper Ln. in Riverdale, Georgia.
The women are accused are advertising sex on Craigslist.com, an online classified ad site. They were all charged with prostitution.
White, who was arrested with her daughter, was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, police said. Cowan, arrested with White, was accused of the same crime, they said.
He was also charged with fourth-degree promoting prostitution and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana.
All are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead.
