Anyone caught possessing pornography which depicts rape could be jailed for three years under new government plans.

It is against the law to publish images of rape but a legal loophole means possession of the material is currently unpunishable.

The changes to the law, which will be introduced in January, will bring England and Wales in line with Scotland, where the offence carries a maximum sentence of three years in jail.

Mr Cameron is targeting websites which show videos and images of rape – whether they claim they are ‘simulated’ or not.

The prime minister has previously attacked websites which show the material, saying: ‘These images normalise sexual violence against women – and they are quite simply poisonous to the young people who see them.’

In a further crackdown on what Mr Cameron referred to as ‘the darkest corners of the internet’, Downing Street will tomorrow announce that a national database will be created to give every illegal image a label.

The move is designed to make it easier to have the material removed from the internet.

what with ATVOD, Filters and the list of sites going to be banned from next year from the web, the UK porn industry is pretty much on its last legs it would seem ..

Myself I am having to temporily shut down my website while i have a new compliant website built that is ATVOD friendly etc ...

Then ATVOD will be targeting UK based Webcam models that use sites from anywhere in the world that arent ATVOD compliant etc this means all cam sites like adultwork, imlive, cams.com, streamate etc , if they dont have the billing methods and age verification systems that adhere to ATVOD desired standard , and allow models to sell clips they will be not allowed for UK based models to use the services of these websites as the models will be held accountable for the content etc ... think its going to be dark times within 12months here in the uk .. just a big dirty leech from the government to grab money in license fees, and knock out as much porn bonefide in the uk as they can and put in place the censorship controls of information on the internet that they really want . so they can control what the public sees/does etc .. it will start with porn as its an easy vehicle to attack to get public support .. but once the bills all pass where will it stop. will they censor what videos you can see on youtube from the uk, will they block news blogsites etc that bad mouth the uk etc ..

People saying ahhh by usa sites will be ok, think again if they get they way with the banks and the banks agree to what ATVOD want them to do which is basically to not allow non UK pornsites that dont have the ATVOD preffered restrictions in place that all visa/mastercard transactions will be unable to be processed from a UK person in the uk .. as they want to get all the merchant banks that provide services to these sites to basically block them ... another option mentioned was blacklisting all non uk porn websites that dont have the uk compliance in place .. will be interesting to see what happens in the nezt few months if these requests are just laughed out by the banks ..


Tempted to just move abroad by end of next year and set up shop else where ...

Yep seems like its a thin blurry line their trying to draw. If the definition of 'rape porn' that is filmed without consent of the performers then that would be better. But if they are trying to police the murky waters of BDSM then it seems like more nanny state bureacratic BS.
