I looked at my profile to try to get some info. The info wasn't there, because the cupboard was bare.

My profile is empty. My profile is always empty. I never put anything in my profile unless it is for me.

Then it strikes me. I've clocked up under 400 posts over the years I've been here. But my profile has been looked up nearly a thousand times.

WHY?

In my case, out of the last 10 visitors, there's Amber Littlefeather. Why? There's Michelle Firestone. WHY? There's Wendy Williams. WHY?

Look, if you have a question, try asking. No, this is not another ask person X anything thread. I really have no idea why people are looking up my profile.

So, here's the general question. WHY do you (the general poster on here) look up someone's profile? WHY? WHAT IS IT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR?

If I get a decent answer, maybe I'll redecorate my profile. Assuming I know how to make it interesting.

Sometimes I think I remember something someone said but I don't fully trust my memory, or I want an exact quote. So I go to their profile, call up their statistics (which includes past posts) and look for the post I think I remember.

Girls only visit guys' profiles for cock shots. Period. So, please decorate your profile with as many of those as possible. Thanks.

LOL at Krissy... but perhaps people look because you posted a remark they liked or disliked and want to go check to see if your profile says more about you like where you're from, age, pictures of you etc etc.... I suspect few people look more than once if it's as empty as you say (and i have deliberately NOT looked)

On the serious side... If you're on a phone or tablet it is easy to hit the profile name underneath the thread on the front page too. I do that all the time when I'm on my phones. So I've probably racked up quite a few profile views that I didn't actually "do".

Also easy to do is is miss the thumbs up icon and hit the thumbs down one, sorry :) narf

True. I've done both of these. When I'm using my tablet I'm all thumbs.

Yep... often accidentally go to a porn site rather than "new posts' when on iPad

How can I resist looking at your profile now? Oh yeah, it's empty, I forgot! :ignore:

If people are posters here they often will put info on their profiles just like other social media sites. Most just read the posts but a few add friends here, send messages and put up their own pics.

Yes it's down to fat fingers. I'm always clicking in the poster by mistake instead of the thread

Yeah...touchscreen. I don't usually care who people are.

I do like the comments they leave on mine, though :p

i viewed my first profile about 2 weeks after joining this forum and ever since then, i've become an addict. i hate to admit that i have a problem, but i must have viewed more than 16000 profiles since that time- sometimes i view 120 profiles a day. many of them are the same profile. i just hit refresh so i can view them again.

i don't know how this problem started, but i find myself unable to stop viewing profiles. in fact, before typing this confession, i viewed 6 profiles in less than 2 minutes. it's that bad, and it's only getting worse

Thanks folks, you've made me feel much better.

It's not my skinny profile.

It's your 1,000 fat fingers.

What's up with your device? Is it too small for your fingers?

I have the largest screen available on a phone now, but I don't always feel like pinch-zooming it out to click links. It works out as intended the majority of times.

Wait... you're supposed to use your fingers on your touchscreen? No wonder I always get weird looks when texting.

I feel like a horrible pervert, now, for never trying to use it with anything else.

Oh come now... you were a horrible pervert before. Don't sell yourself short.

But I aspire to be an ever better pervert.

Seriously, though, I'm never using my finger for Draw Something again...

And I fully expect a showing at my local art gallery soon then. Stranger things have happened.

Sometimes it's fruitful to view a profile when users request information on escorts in a particular location but fail to indicate which country they're referring to.

Sometimes a person will have photo of girl in their avatar and I'll view their profile to find out who she is. I also view profiles to see if a particular girl has a website, tumbler site, etc..

You do realise that irony is a scarce commodity hereabouts, Krissy? :hide-1:
