Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor? That is so cool! This will be interesting.

Most amusing thing is that they had to digitally mask Supe's 'package'. Apparently, the actor that plays him is hung like an elephant and they were afraid people would spend all the time staring at his crotch and forget to watch the movie.

I once had the good fortune to meet the original Superman, Kirk Allen, at an event in Florida in the early eighties. If you get the director's cut of the first Superman movie, you can catch him and the original Lois Lane, Noel Neil, as Lois Lane's parents on the train that Superboy/Clark Kent races to the crossing. :D

Didn't he get killed? Or something like that?

Who? Luthor or the S-man?

Hey, it's the movies, guy. They 'killed' Jack Bauer, didn't they? :)

You're only 'dead' as long as the ratings are low.

Oh, gotcha. I'd actually be surprised if he was still around today. I met him in 83 or 84 and I think he was in or near his seventies then.

No doubt, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor sounds really cool. He's one of my favorite actors. Aside from that, the movie sounds terribly boring. I'll wait for the HBO release.

It is me, or has Hollywood been making an unusually large volume of bad or uninteresting movies lately? The Omen? Miami Vice? Mission: Impossible III (two was really, really bad)?

I'm a big Kevin Spacey fan...but someone with his enormous talent accepting a role in a comic book film is a sure sign that he's moving from the A list to the B list...maybe he needs to find a new agent...

Comic book movies actually have many A-List actors now my friend. I would too since many of them make over 100 million...

I suspect you're thinking of George Reeves, who played Superman in the 104 episodes of The Adventures of Superman from 1952 through 1959 after first appearing in the theatrical release (and TV pilot) "Superman and the Mole Men." He had had a moderately successful film career prior to Superman, appearing as one of Vivien Leigh's suitors in "Gone with the Wind" and a strong role in "So Proudly We Hail!" But he was typecast as Superman (perhaps TV's first major typecasting), and unable to find satisfactory work after the series, committed suicide in 1959.

Kirk Alyn played Superman in the 1948 movie serial and the subsequent "Atom Man vs. Superman" which was released in 1950.

I knew he died under strange conditions. I heard some say he killed himself and others say he was murdered. They did a bit on unsolved mysteries. For some reason i just could not remember the name.

His mother did not think it was a suicide, and the evidence was somewhat inconclusive, though it was officially declared a suicide.
