...If this paid anything.

A brief bit of background/context.

This is a brand new music video I was hired to produce for a small band out of Brooklyn, New York called .357Lover. The lead singer is a man who goes by the stage name, Corn Mo. I first saw his solo act when he opened for They Might Be Giants in Dallas in 2004. I was immediately hooked and became an instant and rabid fan. Since that time I've kept in touch with him on and off over the course of 9 years through a fan mailing list, MySpace, Facebook, etc.

When I released the video for a song I wrote called "She Doesn't Like Boys" in 2012 Corn Mo caught wind of it, was immediately impressed and asked if I'd shoot the music video for the new single from his rock band's upcoming album.

Last month he flew from NY to TX to stay for a couple days in order to shoot the principle footage based off of pitch I made over the phone. About a month and a half later, this is the final result.

I recommended watching it on full screen at 720HD, (if you're viewing this from a PC or Mac.)

Visit www.357lover.com and/or www.cornmo.com for more information about the music and band that you've heard or are about to hear.

And for christ's sakes, turn it the hell up!

I liked the song...and you did a great job with the video. I also loved the video that you referred to and posted on this site - "She Doesn't Like Boys".

It would be great if you can incorporate some of the effects you were using in the "cosplay" thread in a music video also.
Very creative. Wish I had that kind of imagination.

Can't wait to see what's next.

Good creative production. Credit where it's due. (I am in the business as a documentary maker.)

After we changed our living arrangement ( moving our "bedroom" plus my pc setup into the newly "room mate-free" room and turning our old room into our studio ) I haven't seen Jamie alot lol. Her working on this and me, well, in our bedroom on my pc working or piddling on the interwebs. So this is the first time I got to see the finished product and holy fuckshit IT IS AMAZING!

Not only is my love of my life pretty, witty, and gay, but she's also extremely talented and stout in her production skills and value.

Looks really nice and complimented the song and the artist well. Hope you get the chance to do more work for more diverse bands/music.

Completely off-topic, I'm watching a band documentary right now that you might appreciate. Here's the trailer

Don't have any experience as an artist so this is a consumer view only, but nicely done. Enjoyed the video! Your work speaks for itself.

It's fantastic Jamie. Every single aspect. It would be great if you could make music and video production your mainstream. Good luck.

Jamie if you don't mind my asking, what kind of gear dis you shoot with, lighting and in post what editor and plugins to did leverage?

Again that is very nice work IMO. Great pace without noisy quick cut edits without purpose. Clean solid work IMO.

Camera: Canon T3i.

Lens: Sigma 20mm f1.8 wide angle prime.

Lights: 2 Smith Victor 250 watt photo floods w/diffusion umbrellas. 1 Smith Victor 250 Watt softbox. 2 Lowel Pro 250 watt Fresnel key lights w/diffusion umbrellas.

Stands: Countless camera tripods and light stands. 1 4ft. rail slider for tracking shots.

Format: 24fps 1920x1080 edited down to 1280x720 so I have head room to animate frames, (false zooms, dolly shots, tracking shots)

Animation was all done in Daz3D Studio. www.daz3d.com for more info about that.

All my editing/post is done in After Effects CS6. For this video I used a fake aspect ratio overlay, (the black bars) a subtle vignette, some old film leader footage placed over the animation with layer properties set to multiply with an opacity of about 30%, a little color correction, a plugin from videocopilot.net called Twitch for a few transitions, a few blooms, etc.

All shots were locked down (as I did a lot of split screen for this one) and anything that looks hand held was simply animated to look that way after the fact.

Thanks... the link is going to be taken down soon, (it's actually a direct private link so the video for the band members to check out. It doesn't actually show up on my youtube page) When the band officially puts it out there I'll re-link the video from their account.
