http://thesexawards.com/ is something new from AVN - the premise is good, fan voted awards but once again, they've alienated the transsexual adult community by not including ANY transsexual pornstars or sites.

Make sure you tweet, facebook or email AVN to let them know you're displeasure at their (once again) marginalization of the entire transsexual adult industry.

they do have TS in there steven ,, they are just lumped in with females ..

wendy williams website is under best website category i just saw ..

Venus Lux is there too etc .. probably more if i read through it all

http://thesexawards.com/voting/9

Though quiite why any of the TS are not in the Best Pornstar area i dont know, or New comer etc ,, just checked to see if they got lumped in with men and thats a negative .. so just seems the TS are relegated to Website only .

It looks like they alienate performers in general. Instead of fans being able to pick ANY pornstar, AVN gives fans a list of girls. Fans should be able to pick whoever they want in proper categories. That's why the Tranny Awards is much better because fans can enter the pornstar's names instead of being forced to pick from a bias list.

You are wrong Franklin. There was a press release MONTHS ago for producers, business owners, bloggers, publicist, reviewers to participate by emailing in nominations for categories and they listed them all. It was as easy as just emailing your nominations in for the category like "best pornstar website" etc. I saw the press release on AVN, AdultFYI, and numerous adult industry blogs. This was awhile back when I saw it.

I know Venus Lux and I are under Pornstar Websites.

Liberty I don't think it was a matter of being "regulated" , I didn't submit me or any of my clients in that category as it just seemed it would be hard to win a fan vote against someone like Jessica Drake. I did submit my website and a few others as we all work so hard on that. Doc Johnson submitted my toy apparently and I have a nomination under the toy category for my ass.

I'm not wrong. You've proved my point. Fans didn't have any saw in the matter. They weren't given the options of nominating anybody. It was left up to the people in the industry.

Steven I was surprised there was no TS Category , the press release says AVN is a sponsor and it is being run by the old owner Paual..... Atleast that's what I remember. I don't think AVN is running it , I could be wrong. Ill go find the old release.

Franklin, and everyone else

I asked AVN President Paul Fishbien about the Sexawards taking place this fall. His response as to why there is no "TS Category" specifically is Showtime the cable network is sponsoring the event and didn't want a breakout category this year, but hadn't ruled it out for future award programs.

He also added that all TS performers were welcome to seek nominations in any category. (Which they have!)

So there you go, right from the source.

Oups! Before I read your comment, Libby, and the next one, I went on their site and gave them shit, very polite shit, but shit nonetheless... lol

Nice! But both options should be available from jump IMO. I hope this is rectified next year.

Me too. But like any program (and the awards show is just that) It will be dependent on Ratings. C'est La Vie.
