I suppose I'm a very bad judge for this. Of course I've seen many people wearing feminine clothes that were obviously men. But I guess it's the point too: it's difficult to differentiate, just at sight, if the person is a transvestite or a transsexual woman at the beginning of her transition. But of the transsexual women I've spent time with, a definite majority would have fooled me.
Another element which you have to consider it your basis for comparision; if it's a young woman exploding with estrogens, well, yeap! might be difficult to get easily to that level at the beginning of a transition or of course, if you started late. But if you look at women in general, and especially women of a certain age, it's different.
This being said, I understand what some of you are saying: there's some signs, some things that might "give you". But as far as that is concerned, men usually don't examine girls with a magnifying glass.
All in all I'd say that my impression is that t-women are never satisfied with their look. And you know what? it just shows how much they really are women indeed, because women can never satisfy themselves either... -As to girls of HA who do porn, none of them seems manly in any way to me. NONE.

I've seen quite a few tgirls who were completely passable in the early stages of transition, only to become less passable after becoming obsessed with cosmetic surgery and procedures. To make matters worse, instead of just living a "normal" life, some decide to get heavily involved in the gay lifestyle, activism, politics, etc., which is certainly not a way to live stealth as a woman. But, for many, living stealth as a woman just isn't the goal.

Lots, but we won't know numbers because of course they are passable and stealth so people actually don't and they wont say they are ts either. That's the point of going stealth.

If I have to say a number of fully completely passable ts girls that I know I would guess it would be from 3%-6% around there. Girls with too many surgeries FFS or Too much of an ass or tits tend to look good but brings attention to them and anything else like mannerism, voice, adams apple, etc and they would be discovered.

I don't how you can put a percentage on this. Even the exact number of TS will never be known because there's so many factors. Some are closet, some are passable, etc.

I go as a full time woman and I think I'm passable. I have a good fem. voice and people I talk to don't react. There's no way to really know unless I just decide to ask random people, but then the cat's out of the bag, right? :P

I honestly don't care if I pass or not. I think I look fucking rocking and if wasted my time worrying if other people think I look like a "real" girl I'll tear out my hair out. While it's always nice if I get compliments, I have long since accepted that someone somewhere sometime will peg you and it honestly doesn't fucking matter. I think it's sort of pessimistic to judge transgender women based solely on how well they can pass as genetic female. To answer the question I don't know what the percentage is, and if being clocked brings negative attention then of course there's some social benefit in avoiding it.

But imo if a girl is not yet able to pass, or because of genetics is never able to do so, she has not in some way failed to transition. If she is pleased that her appearance matches her gender identity and disposition to the greatest extent possible then she has accomplished more than most by being comfortable with herself.

There is a lot of pressure for trans people to "compete" with women (like threads like this).

The issue of passing is one beyond simple vanity and has largely been one of necessity to live a normal life.

Eventually maybe society (and trans themselves) will be more comfortable just accepting trans as they are (and celebrating them as they are). Instead of looking at them as 2nd rate women with larger hands or shoulders or the variety of other visual effects of being trans and having gone through a previous puberty as male.

That is why I still consider myself male. Why would I bother trying to consider myself female?

As a male all of my masculine features are normal....and all of my feminine features are gifts to be celebrated.

To start with, women in stealth do not appear in porn or on porn boards. That said, there are plenty of girls either active here or whose pictures are posted here who could do it, and maybe there are some who are living a double life.

A very significant number of transwomen simply vanish once they transition. IDK about the US, but but in the UK and elsewhere, once a person has legally changed gender, all previous records are sealed and it is a criminal offence to reveal any details at all. So finding out percentages is kinda hard.

When Lynn Conway challenged the APA's ridiculously low guesstimate of the incidence of mtf transsex, she had to extrapolate from the numbers of SRS surgeries then being performed by US-based surgeons (meaning that any who went to Thailand or elsewhere were not counted.) So that gives an idea of how hard it is to get an idea of this. See:

However, despite the difficulties, Lynn got a reasonably firm estimate of at least 32,000 post-operative transwomen living in the US at the time of her study, or 1:2500 of born male population between ages 18-80. However, no study that I know of has reliably estimated the numbers of post-op transwomen against pre-op, non-op etc. We don't know how many of these will elect to have SRS, and we have no clue as to how many are already living in stealth. Conway, calling it the 'intrinsic' incidence, estimates around 20% of all mtf transsex women have SRS, which would suggest a total incidence of 1:500 of the relevant born-male population or a total (in the US) of around 160,000. (And this does not include the 'Hidden' transsexuals, those currently living as men but who will at some stage in the future, transition.)

We have to assume that a very considerable number of transwomen, if these stats have validity (I am not a statistician but Conway is) are living in deep stealth, completely invisible to the world.
