I watched an interesting movie on Netflix called "After The Porn." It profiled some of the former mainstream actors (both male and female). Mary Carey, John Leslie, Randy West, Houston to name a few. Profiled their upbringing, how they got into the business, their time in the industry and what their life has been like since retiring or leaving. It wasn't an uplifting story. The men have faired better than the women since leaving the industry.
I'd be interested in comments from anyone who gets the opportunity to see it.

The men sure last longer than the women. Randy West? Joey Silvera? Ron Jeremy? These are golden-age performers.

Who remembers Victoria Paris? Leslie Glass? Jewel DeNyle?

I watched this a few months back. Some of the stories were absolutely heartbreaking. Asia Carrera in particular. I thought it was a really good doc about these people lives after a job with a short career lifespan and how they deal with their pasts. It was interesting to see most of them living normal lives just like the rest of us. Really knocks down the glamour factor that I think most associate porn stars.

Years ago I went with Kimber James to a shoot/interview for this documentary. They did a whole interview with Kimber on a roof with the Hollywood sign in the background. I think they even asked me some questions. It was a long time ago. lol I thought it was kind of odd because this was at the height of her very early popularity...why was she participating in a documentary about life after porn?? But she didn't care what it was about. She was the only t-girl being interviewed in a documentary about porn and that was enough for her!!! I remember seeing the director at a tranny bar a few years later. I think he was a bouncer at the original Peanuts if I remember correctly.

that's a righteous story buddy. i got one of my own:

about 3 weeks ago i met this spectacular gg babe in san diego. gorgeous blondie with long flowing locks and a smile to drive your blood pressure into overdrive. i found out a few days later that she's the one responsible for all those internet banners for tv shows like the upcoming 'tomorrow people' and 'nsci los angeles' and stuff like that.

currently i'm playing it careful with this one. she's like a minefield. proper intelligent and dangerously sexy.

see you later

What's just wrong?? It was a legit documentary. Big crew. Fun day. She was doing it to market herself more. At the time I didn't get it because of the subject matter of the doc...but in the end it's all publicity.

Wtf do u mean standards?? Goddamn you're annoying. lol

Nina Hartley certainly is a case of a woman who did a lot of stuff after her younger years! She showed amazing capacities to renew herself. I have a lot of admiration for her.
Is she a personal friend, Victoria?

We're not BFF's or anything, but we're friendly! We met at Exxxotica In Atlantic City where I was doing stuff at the Dungeon there. Her and her husband share a love of Kink-- and of sexual evolution. So we got that in common. :)

It is on Netflix now, it will shock you what some of them look like now.
Try to guess who these 2 are.
There is a facebook page up also, http://www.facebook.com/AfterPornEnds

The train wreck Mary Carey cracked me up, she is still young and says that if it gets slower for her at 30 she will do double anal, after that if it gets slow again and she is 35 she'll do a black guy. :yayo: Double anal before a black guy, WOW, she must really be racist.

I agree. It is sad that alcohol has put a stranglehold on Asia Carrera. An incredibly gifted woman (Genius IQ; Virtuoso pianist) to have her life controlled by substance is simply saddening.

No mention of Seka appearing in the film. Wouldn't have recognized her if they didn't label her. Amber Lynn looked great. Yes, a few surgeries, but she's kept her body in great shape. It was sad that her segment was being taped during her grieving of her brother's, Buck Adams', funeral. Randy West's life seemed lonely. John Leslie during editing and prior to the movie release. Not long before that Jamie Gillis died (not mentioned in the film). For many, it seems they either don't plan for life after porn or they simply are lost after porn. Raylene is someone who I hadn't heard of until this film. The real estate gig seemed to be a challenge for her and therefore the return to porn. I've since began watching her films and enjoy her scenes very much. She's a veteren who's held her age very well. I could go on, but these are just some of my take on the film. I'm always interested in what happens behind the scenes.

There's a film out currently called AROUSED. It deals with fifteen women currently in the business shot by a professional photographer who wanted to capture them in a glamorous photoshoot. There are non-stop interviews with these women to the point where I was bored to tears. A film poorly done shot in black and white with stars including, Belladonna, Francesca Le, April Oneil, Lexi Belle came up way short in this 78 minute flick that only tackled a brief bit about the girls' upbringing, their current views of porn and pretty much nothing else. In other words, the flick was absolutely pointless.

Speaking of stars after porn. There was a series on Showtime called "Dave's Old Porn". Dave Attell would have former porn stars mostly from the 80's as guests and they would watch 80's porn and talk about it. It was a good series.

Seeing the former stars can ruin many a fantasy.

That Tiffany Millions photo is a little misleading in that it certainly looks as if she is wearing no make up. Remember when the girls were going at it in front of the camera they were pretty well painted and Tiffany I'm sure was no exception. Consequently she may be just fine in the looks department for a woman with a porn career fifteen years in the rearview mirror. The real deal for her was her incredible body and legs. She was gorgeous when she was performing.

I just think allot of these girls just get caught up in the hole glitz and glamor of it all. Many are only out of high school with never going back and getting more education for after the business. Many don't save money well. They simply live from pay check to pay check.
That is why I'm a strong believer that if you're a popular girl now a days. Get yourself a good fan base and start your own website business. Maybe you won't make millions but you're sure as shit going to make more than the 500 dollars or whatever it is that producers pay for a shoot. And that's weekly income for however long you do it. If you're committed to your craft, then you can become successful at it. Grooby, and Bob's Tgirls, Shemale Strokers are all high rollers, but you can still do good for yourself with just some good promotion, good design, and finally good content, updated weekly.
It might take a little time before the word spreads out but It can happen. Be your own entrepreneur, with occasional visits to the sites that helped to get you started in the business. That's my business model lol
And don't let people get you down by saying it's too hard, you won't make money after expenses, paying talent etc. That's all bullshit! I did it for ten years, and never once going broke because of it. It Did break up my relationship lol but It also supplied me a with a life of fun and adventure. And that I will never regret....

I think you saw After Porn Ends (http://www.afterpornends.com/). The link has several places you can watch it.

I saw this film in early 2013, shortly before the first time I ever met a porn star in real life (that porn star was Tiffany Starr, btw). One thing I noticed is that most of girls did not have the same apparent level of success in their lives after doing porn. But most of them didn't seem to be on course to have awesome lives if they did something else with those years. Remember there are thousands of college graduates (many of whom got very good grades), in the US, working for minimum wage. Successful athletes and actors that make way more money than adult performers sometimes go bankrupt. I tend to think if you did a similar look at "pro" athletes, in a sport where they don't make millions of dollars a year, the results might be pretty similar.

Simply put: Success in one field does not guarantee success in another.

I watched the documentary too, it seems that females have a harder time trying to fit into the mainstream than males. My favorite girl is Gauge; she went to college and obtained a medical technicians degree; started working at a hospital in her home state, was recognized and no one wanted to work with her. She's back doing porn, saw her on Brazzers.
