I'd like to take a second to recognize Dan The Poet Man for being a voice of reason and guide toward civility when some of us (especially me) go for the jugular when we should be shaking hands and agreeing to be adults in disagreement. He reminds me why I found this forum in the first place and I'm embarrassed that some of my recent posts have gone from complimentary to confrontational to all too often juvenile. Thanks Dan.

That’s so nice, Jimmy! I’m moved. This really makes my day and my week! I wish I was as much of a tempered temperament as you feel I am, but I think that sometimes I also get carried away terribly. In fact, Jimmy, even in your outbursts, I find that you always show how well intentioned you are, and how much of a good human being you must be. I just wish people could say the same of me, but I doubt it… :)
But thank you so much, Jimmy. This warms my heart incredibly!

Well, since I have only 607 posts you shouldn't put too much stock in anything I post until I guess...maybe? I double that number? Anyway. I speak the truth and am honored to do so Dan. It's all true. You are a diplomat in the proudest sense of the word. While unlikely, I hope to limit future posts to awkwardly loving paens to Alisha and Tiffany Starr in the hopes that one day... Well....lets just say...one day. Just like I used to do in Dec 2006. Be well.

I'll happily second that, Jimmy. Dan is a true gentleman among us and a thoroughly civilised individual too. Although that might just be the malt.... :dancing:

I wouldn't deny the influence of ancestral Scottish traditions on me! ;)
Thank you, guys. I really don't think I deserve that much! but I appreciate it a lot!
I think that in life, one has to try to be as positive as possible. Or else, great opportunities might slip by, or just even beauty, or talent, or just wonderful people. I suppose I will sound terribly corny, here, but I find that most people have something amazing to be found, even when they don't know it themselves. When I've stop to get to know someone, I always have discovered things I didn't know, and sometimes treasures. I guess I'm always on the stand by for more. And here in HA, to my surprise, I met incredible people, like you guys. If I was to deserve any credit, which I really don't think so -on the contrary!-, it would be for this sole reason, in other words, well, because of you.

That someone as sweet and incredibly bright as you, Trish, would say this to me!... I can't deal with this.
Hey! guys, stop! you're going to mush me up!
Trish, it's a privilege for me to know someone like you. I should be writing something like this on a thread on you. I'm just humbled at how knowledgeable and talented you are. And to have a scientific background and simulteneously such a great pen is something really rare. I don't deserve your praise.
But thank you!

Why do I suddenly feel like the prom queen? I wish I could find something terribly rude, but it just isn't coming for now. Maybe later! :ignore:

Lol! Thank you, ImpulZ! Yes, we live under the Brittish Parlementarism system, both in Canada and Quebec. I would be a Prime Minister, if anything. I really don't think the role could fit me...

It's a great thing for a discussion board to have someone like Dan around to not just be polite, but to sometimes try to bridge the gap between warring parties and act as a voice of reason... Kudos.

Just to let you know Dan, there's a bottle of every malt in that pic in my whisky store.

You need to come by some time. And you'd be more than welcome.

Buttslinger, thanks, my friend! In such a case, I promise you I’ll put my cape on, my tights (mm?! well, maybe not) and my “S” marked corset… well, breast plate, to replace the mailmen and deliver all these glorious bills and stuff.
ImpulZ, I hate to admit it, but you know a few of my weak spots…
Suzy, thank you, my friend. But to me, no one but you could present such a charming blend of creativity, humour, wit and colour to this place. I wish we would see you more around here! There should be a thread to entice your constant presence on HA!
Jez… you crack me up!
Dino, every body here is your friend! You take so much of yourself to this place! Always nice to every body, always bringing some interesting or funny stuff to share. There are a few people towards whom I’m embarrassed to be complimented like that instead of them: you definitely are on of them. By the way, dean Dino, you are really closing in on an amazing 20 000 posts! That’s really special.
Never thought I could make friends through the net like this. There is some weirdos on the board, but I found a place where I feel in real good company around here.
Thanks to all of you. I have lots of work right now; I guess I’ll have to miss a bit of my time on HA for a few weeks. But I hope I can talk to all of you soon!

There's many distilleries I don't know. It will eventually be a must for me to visit the UK and especially Scotland. Maybe try myself at walking the Whisky trail, in the Speyside... Thanks, Robert Louis!

I haven't really had any conversations with you, Dan, but you're a hell of a nice guy and I enjoy your posts. This place is better for having you around.

On another note, did someone really take the time to go through and give every single post in this thread a thumbs-down vote? Seriously, what a douche.

Thumbs down vote for this post arriving in 5...4...3........

Speyside's fine, Dan, but the real shangri-la for the malt connoisseur has to be Islay. Eight distilleries all within 20 minutes of each other and for me turning out the finest drink on the planet.

There's just a select few hereabouts with whom I'd love to spend a mellow evening of sipping, savouring and swapping stories. You're at the head of the table.
