They take chopped steak and press it into a patty on the grill.

Why don't any of these burger places open up on the East Coast? I'm tired of Mickey D's, BK, and Wendy's.

I didn't say it wasn't good :P...I love me a Wendy's double cheeseburger or a Baconator. I'm just tired of the Big 3 being my only local choices. There are some Five Guys (awesome!) in the area, but it's a longer drive. You folks have all the burger joints out in L.A.

Five Guys is great, but they are butt fuckin expensive. :p

Steak N Shake isn't something to be...happy about. It's a mass-produced cesspool of 'Merican radioactive beef pucks and artery clogging death fries ( especially with the cheese sauce ). Same goes for McDonalds, Burgerking, and hell...there's even joints in LA called FATBurger!!! Lol WTF? Hahaha

"Hey guys, lets all try to pile in into my Econoline van, drive 2 blocks to FATBurger and have the fattiest, greasiest, Triple Deluxe Gristle Blubber Burger, with an extra large Fat Fuck Fries!" ........lol...but it is true, and it is sad.

.......sigh.......'Merica. :p

It's all about context. People who indulge in stuff like that on a constant basis and treat it as a casual thing are doing themselves a disservice. On the other hand, if I've eaten healthy all week and get a meal at steak n shake after running the stadium bleachers for an hour on Saturday, I can't see the harm. Also, fast food restaurants are the common target of such public service witch hunts, but it's the sit down restaurants like Applebee's, chili's, and Fridays that sell you a burger three times as big with bacon and cheese and a quart of fries. Makes a Wendy burger and medium fries look like nothing.

I agree...."fast food" is fine once in a blue moon as long as one eats healthy between and constantly exercises. Doing a lot of cardio basically negates you having one Fatty MacFatterson meal per week-ish.

Also, when I say exercise...I don't mean curling with a Snickers Bar, or getting up from your gaming chair to go grab another Snickers, eat it ( by curling ) then getting back up again to drop off a box of Snickers in the nearest friendly Convenience Store washroom.

I mean...Get up off you fat preserving ass and go walk, run, or sprint around a few blocks, go to the gym and USE a treadmill, instead of staring at the hot girl on one with her tits bouncing. :)

Morning! I just woke up, and now I have my coffee! HAHAHAHAHAHAH :D

Steak N Shake is many things, but they aren't "pucks." They are cooked from fresh meat - not frozen hockey pucks like Mickey D's.

I consider any fast food as, not great food. Its easier and healthier and cheaper to just shop at your local grocer and buy REAL food and cook it at home.

Hell, even Subway, being "fast food", isn't good. Their adverts only suggest eating at the establishment and you will lose weight, BUT people only see what they want to see and they'll get a 12" packed with meats and cheeses, mayo, avocado, spinach, salt, and more cheese ( not realizing the amount a calories they just ingested ), AND get a diet soda...and go on thinking they are eating healthy because, "Oh, it's Subway!" BUT they won't exercise ( to burn off what they consume and build lean muscle...which in turn burns fat ), because they are propagandized to think that if they just eat Subway, they will lose weight but no, they won't.

Cali already has one over-hyped, doesn't-deserve-the-reputation burger chain

It's called In 'n' Out. I use it as a litmus test- if someone tells me the burgers are good. I make a mental note that said person has lost all sense of taste and should never be consulted regarding culinary matters

I rely on this man, George Motz, to let me know where great burgers can be found across America. He's written a book about it and episodes of Burger Land can be seen on the travel channel. http://www.travelchannel.com/tv-shows/burger-land I never travel anywhere without checking to see if some joint I've seen on the Food Network or Travel Channel is en route or at my destination.

Funny enough...the "burger" is actually very healthy for you...AS LONG AS....it contains lean meat, a bunch of veggies, small amount of cheese/condiments, and beautfifully wrapped in a multi-grain bun. Right there you have all you need in a meal, a balanced meal with balanced nutrients!

Just don't go overboard fatty fattercrap and eat fries with it. As a side, have some coleslaw, veggies, baked potato, salad, low shit chips. It is easy and you can haz cheezborger! hahaha ;)

You heading back to California Lexi? I saw an escort advert for you recently in the UK.

Yeah, on June 10. I'll be visiting my friends and family for summer vacation. I'm going to need to do something 'bout my ad so I don't get hit up. BTW, did you like my profile?

And as for my love of Steak 'n Shake...it's been a family tradition since forever! Every time me and Mom would go back to Illinois to visit Oma and my aunties, uncles, and cousins, we'd ALWAYS go to Steak 'n Shake. I absolutely love their cheeseburgers, fries, and chocolate shakes.

Reminds me, I think I'm going to go to Ruby's Diner sometime when I get back...they're just as good. I love In 'n Out too.

I still can't wait to taste Mom's home-made pepperoni pizza and mozzarella sticks when I get back!

I don't care what you say, this tranny loves her fast food! I do a considerable amount of walking, and I don't eat that frequently.

Dammit! I'm making myself hungry and I have no money!!!

I agree. I love my fast food, but I do exercise. Its weird: I eat fast food all the time, and weigh only 145 lbs at 6'1". My friend is on a 100% vegan diet, yet weights 210 lbs at 5'11". Probably it's all the weed he smokes.

My favorite thing at Subway is a foot-long pastrami on Italian herb and cheese bread, with Swiss, chipotle, mayo, and spicy mustard, toasted. Everyone jokes that even at a "healthy food" place, I still manage to order the worst thing for me.

Everyone, what's your favorite food, fast food, sit-down resteraunt, or home-made?

The thing about diets are this...THEY DO NOT WORK! Literally, ask Dr. Atkins LMAO.

The biggest tip to mange or lose weight and tone your body is to watch calorie intake.

Say you take in 1300 ( normal ) for most of we girls. If you take in more than that and dont exercise, you are burning calories but not at all enough to budget intake/burn properly.

Calories ( if you didn't know ) are a unit of energy. Energy can be stored ( fat ) and/or it can be burned ( daily chores, exercise, hell even sleeping ).

Exercise is great for not only burning calories but also for building lean muscle ( lots-o-cardio ). Lean muscle burns fat much faster, increases metabolism, improves bone health, prevents injury, and also prevents many ailments ( such as coronary disease, and DEATH! ). Even if you smoke ( like myself ) doing these things help. :)
Also you feel a lot better, look better, and you age gracefully! ;) My daily tips for health. Enjoy! :D

BTW...just got done with my workout, and I feel great. Now for a quick cigarette then shower! ;) teehee

I could never handle a diet. I just eat what I like and exercise.

You smoke too? Should we be smoking on our estradiol pills? Then again, I smoke a pack a day, and back in Cali, I'd smoke those delicious Djarum Blacks...they are SO yummy! Tasted really good when combined with a chocolate shake, for some reason.

If you want to lose weight and build muscle, just calculate your daily calorie needs, subtract 10% from that, and eat that many calories a day in a high protein, high fat, low-to-no carb diet (research has shown carbohydrates are un-necessary in your diet, as your body can make carbs from fat and protein). Do lots of weight-lifting for exercise.

EvaCassini
05-22-2013, 04:35 AM
i smoke marlboro menthol blacks, jamie smokes those nasty Djarum Blacks.

My daily intake limit for calories ( me being 24, 130 lbs, F, and 5'9" ) is about 1200 or less to lose about 2-3 lbs a week, or 1200 flat to lose about 1 lb per week. I stay in and around the 1200 or less. It is good to have a balanced meal for nutrients, but just watch your calorie intake. Know your numbers :).

Keep in mind...10 months ago I was 170. 5 months ago = 130-140. 1 month to present = 130-135. I feel amazing! :)

Also most people don't realize how much 1 pound or even 10 pounds feels like ( weight wise ) so say you wanted to lose about 10 pounds....find a 10 pound weight and pick it up. You will really be surprised how heavy that can get from just lifting it to walking around with it. It really can be an cumbersome parasitical mass! :D

Cool that Jamie smokes Djarum Blacks...finally, somebody else who smokes these! I think I'm the only one who buys them at 7-11. For the time being in England, I took to alternating between smoking a pipe and smoking Marlboro Brightleaf (UK Djarum Black not as good as the American version)

Hey, I lost 45-50 in 8 months! I'm 140-145 (maybe even a bit less) at 6'1" Maybe that was due to starting my HRT and my greatly restricted diet upon moving to England though.

I used to be 210 lbs...I looked like I should've been selling oranges on the 405 off-ramp. I just didn't care about that old body...

Do you mean Bob's, Elby's or the best- Shoney's (though I think they abandoned the Big Boy)?

And there is also Elias Brothers and Frisch's (I think they sell the tartar sauce - which is funny in Cali the sauce is red, in Ohio and I am sure in other states the sauce is the white tartar sauce). But the Elias is the one I remember... And looking on Wiki - "Shoney's dropped its relationship with Big Boy in 1984 in order to expand into neighboring states where other franchisees owned the trademark."

The real questions is when the hell is White Castle coming west of the Rockies!

They did the Foodie Fest out here in Vegas this year at Silverton, the wait was 6 hours and people still did it, there were cheers everytime someone walked away with a Kraver Case. They ran out of food after day one, had to fly it in for day two and three, and still ran out by 6pm on the third day.

If that doesn't tell you its time to expand, I don't know what else their CEO needs to see.

And no, they don't franchise. I looked in to it years ago. I could make millions by opening a store on the Strip, but they're all corporate owned and don't open anywhere west of Austin, Texas at the moment.
