I look at it this way. All (most) adults who work pay taxes. This entitles everyone equal treatment under the law. THIS INCLUDES THE RIGHT TO MARRY ANYONE THEY CHOOSE IN A CIVIL CEREMONY.

Now I look at religion like a club. If you don't follow the rules, then you can't be in the club. If the religion doesn't want you because you are gay...to hell with them. They're just a bunch of fucking hypocrites.

In the U.S. we have a provision in the constitution that calls for a SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE. Any politician that objects to gay marriage or any issue on religious grounds is basically in violation of the U.S. Constitution.

If you are a citizen and pay taxes in your country, you should be afforded the same rights and privileges as anyone else.
