Angela, I can't speak for apartment hunting via the web, but you might consider the little apartment hunter magazines that you can find in the convenience stores and supermarts. They list most all of the current buildings/complexes and agents.

Depending on your budget/locale, consider a new building/complex, less than a year old. They often have move-in specials and twofers (First two months, first and last month, no security deposit, etc.) to get the place filled up in hopes of a quick return on their investment.

My last apartment, before I bought the house, was a nice new place with pretty landscaping, a 24 hour security service, pool/health club, free cable, full size W/D in the apartment, AC, full size nuke, DW, etc., for what worked out to less than I'd been paying for my previous place (When calculating in all the perks and extra space that the new place had). Since they were trying to get more people into the complex (It was a total of about 40 twelve-unit buildings in a very nice area), they were giving 10-20% rent reductions, waiving security deposits and application fees, etc. A very good deal.

Good luck on your hunt.
