Hi!

I think it could be interesting to make a thread about Mixed Martial Arts.
It's a fast growing sport and more and more people are getting into it.

To make it short, it's a combination of all the combat sports you can find. At the beginning, it was a discipline against an other (for example, karate vs judo or tae kwon do against sumo) but as time went, each fighter learned more and more to have more tools, and today, you have to know some basics in boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and ground.

On my side, I follow MMA for around 18-20 months now, so I'm quite new to it. I watch all the UFC events (the only one I missed is Macau) so I try to learn and see always more. I love the technical aspect. I hate the trash talking and the cockyness, I love respectful guys like George St-Pierre.
At first, when kid, I loved karate and tae kwon do, but I learned to love all the aspect of MMA, including BJJ which I love.

April is quite a big month in the UFC with 4 events.
Last week-end was also Invicta with an amazing fight between Waterson and Penne, check it out if you have not because that fight was just unbelievable.

Sounds good man. It's a great sport. I used to post links to fights here but i felt there weren't enough mma fans to get a good discussion brewing.

If you don't like the trash-talking or cockiness try watching some of the old Pride fights from Japan. Shogun, Wanderlei and Rampage had some great fights over there back then.

On the last PPV miller vs healy was a decent fight.
