I was very sad to hear about this...still am. I grew up watching both of these guys on their show. I've also read many of Roger's reviews in the paper - I had respect for his opinion. Hard to believe they're both gone now

I laughed. I'm going to Hell for that one.

A lot of movies he thumbed down I liked. Opinion is opinion.

A well argued and reasoned opinion - even a negative one - on anything from a book or a movie to the attributes of an escort is far far more useful than bland praise or simple damnation. Being able to articulate eloquently why you like or dislike something is a gift.

RIP Roger Ebert

A question to the HA crowd.

Was he generally giving thumbs down to most movies that have come out in the last 5 years?

I didn't keep up with this reviews, but back in the day I used to agree with him on alot of stuff, and these days I think Hollywood only puts out 1 maybe 2 good movies a year.

So I'm wondering if he was disillusioned with current Hollywood releases.
