I have a t-girl escort as a friend (I only know her as a friend, and have never been with her that way)

She was recently injured in a fight. The other girl got some bites, punches and serious scratching in there.

In talking with her, she said something along the lines of "hope that bitch don't got AIDS" or similar to that. And that's where my questions started. My line of questions was in regards to girls knowing other girl's health status and if they are HIV/AIDS affected. She proceeded to tell me, that she in fact knew that several local girls have HIV/AIDS.

So, now the question to the girls here(guys can answer, but it's mostly directed at the girls)

Do most girls know other girl's HIV/AIDS status? At least in their close circle of friends. And if not, is it because that type of information is not really shared?

In the local backpage/craigslist and other "hookup" venues. There always seems to be , of course the posts from the working girls advertising their services, and also a response or warning from an anonymous poster saying "so and so has AIDS< warning clients! don't see her" and similar things.

Now the 2nd Question. When someone posts a warning like that, in your experience, are they actually telling the truth or is it more of a smack talking slander tactic?

Reason I ask: My friend told me that it was about 50/50 , and that actually astounded me because I was of the belief that it was just a smearing tactic.

And to the first question, it surprised me with the openness my friend talked to me about that. I asked her, "really, you know for a fact they are HIV+?", and she very matter of factly said "yes".

Is HIV/AIDS that common amongst escorts/streetwalkers? Well, relatively speaking, as to your circle of friends that might escort/prostitute.

I knew one girl (don't ask me who, you won't know her) who works even tho she's hiv positive.she's no longer around (moved away, far away) but i use to avoid her clients like the plague.

is there a reason why you don't believe what your t-girl escort friend is telling you?

also- if someone told you x had hiv, would you take a chance even if you thought it was a smear campaign?

Why is this for the girls only? I could provide you with info on this but I'm a man, so I guess I don't count.

Checking my cisprivilege.

I imagine the girls would know, there was a girl in a small town our business is located. She was giving clients AIDS until the day she died. From what i understood the whole town knew, it was the visitors that didn't.

The wise point is, if you are going to see a escort, just protect yourself, no matter what.

I believe her. It was just the the way she answered that kind of caught me off guard. Because of the realities of widespread(just use of a word, don't know the statistics) HIV+ people in the gay/trans world.

I guess what actually made me react the way I did (to come and here and ask) was almost the nonchalant way she told me, like "oh yea, so and so is infected" with almost no "poor girl" or "that's fucked up" afterwards.

To me it's almost like she didn't care or just kind of sees it as a risk of the trade (I'm not saying she didn't), based on the tone of her voice. And I know this girl well, as she is a friend. I've gotten more reaction and passion out of her over what I think are trivial things.

where are you from my my my? im just asking bc im from nyc, and ive heard rumors about girls having hiv. i tend to think that a lot of girls try to take care of themselves by using condoms bc they know the risks that are out there. also a lot of these girls aren't necessarily friends so they don't feel remorse for somebody's actions.

My friend is a social worker with people specifically with AIDS and has met ts that say they still party and supplement their money with dancing or escorting.

Of course HIV is an absolute risk of the trade. Everybody should know that by now.
We as clients have a very risky hobby, and I know I, as well as some others here, have seen multiple providers. The providers themselves see lots of clients, so we all know the risks are high. Because of that everybody should play safe. In so doing you can keep on playing, and having phun.
As far as continuing to escort, or going to see an escort after infection knowingly, thats really fucked up, So again play it safe. wrap it up!!!!

Play safe... always. That's the cast iron rule for the girls and the guys.
