I just don't get it, when I try to open the clips, I just get a page full of graphics and letters????????

yo what u have to do is rite clck it then save target as doesnt matter where u save it then open from there it should work that way.

save the file 1st
SELECT WITH THE LEFT MOUSE KEY THEN
HOLD DOWN THE SHIFT KEY , NOW PRESS THE RIGHT MOUSE KEY (SIMUTANOUSLY HOLD BOTH KEYS-SHIFT + RIGHT MOUSE)

you will see some that says open with, select "open with"then chose a media player to open the file

They are opening in quicktime on my PC, automatically

They are opening in quicktime on my PC, automatically That's because you didn't set your options correctly when you installed Quicktime.

These movies will open just fine with Windows Media Player.

I'm quite happy with the way my options in quicktime are set, what makes you say the are incorrect?

Right click, select "print target", then cancel the print window when it comes up. The movies will play in WMP.
