"... Johnson collects rare performances by black adult film stars that were difficult for him to find and impossible to replace. He says the stolen pornography collection is worth $7,500, much more than the televisions that were taken.

"I had a collection that had every African American that's ever been in porn, from the 70s up until now," explained Johnson.

"My collection was the best in Michigan-- a guy in Connecticut told me that," said Johnson. He believes the thieves realized the value when they stumbled on the porn.

So a guy whose last name is Johnson....had his porn collection stolen? Anyhow I love this piece from the article...
"Angela Morton, Johnson's fiancé says she first realized the adult film collection was missing. "I went in the bedroom and I told him 'oh you really getting ready to be mad.' He said why? I said 'all your porn is gone,'" said Morton."

I dunno...methinks she had something to do with it...

I dunno if anyone would really take my collection of Nikki Santana porn...definitely not worth more than my televisions...

The entertainer Sammy Davis Jr had one of the largest private porn collections in the USA, possibly the world, I wonder what happened to it when he died?

"I had a sinking felling because my porn collection is valuable, man," Johnson told WZZM 13.

"My collection was the best in Michigan-- a guy in Connecticut told me that," said Johnson.

"you're right mr. jonhson. this is the best collection in michigan i've ever seen. you've got some valuable shit right here" guy in connecticut

I'm originally from Detroit Dino, and I didn't even have to watch the video to know of the idiocy that was being said in it. I know it's hard to see, but Detroit could be a very cool city but it just hasn't had good leadership in decades and that city council is a big part of that. If you want some hysterical, sad, pathetic (all at the same time) reading google "Kwame Kilpatrick" - he was the two term (almost) mayor before the current mayor. Currently he is on trial for:
1 count of racketeering conspiracy
8 counts of extortion
13 counts of mail and wire fraud
2 counts of bribery
5 counts of filing false tax returns

There are many reasons why Detroit is a national joke and a shithole, and a lot of it falls on its elected leaders

Wow. His Black porn collection goes all the way back to the....1970s???lol
I could put that collection together right now, only difference is they wouldn't be first print 8mm films or VHS tapes.

His lady is cool though to be so down with his porn jonez. Wouldn't be surprised if she was the one responsible for it missing. Sounds like an inside job.

The State offered to buy Belle Isle - a really big island park in the middle of the river - maintain it and be a park for the residents. This group of 'adults' turned it down.

I lived in the Detroit Metro area in the late 70's, was back last year on a business trip. Wow, has it gone downhill. The nice AA lady at the rental car indicated "Don't drive I-75 at night unless you have a death wish.

My dad was from Detroit so I have a small connection too. I like Michigan over Ohio State, always been a fan of the Red Wings, huge Lions fan every Thanksgiving, cheer for the gutty little Tigers, and was loving it when the Bad Boy Pistons put it to the Lakers way back when. I only buy American cars and trucks too.

The contest to determine that musta been funnier than The Player Haters Ball. Was Rodney Allen Rippy the MC?

Actually Rusty, it was even better than the state outright buying it - the state offered to lease it from the city 10yrs at a time, would pour millions of dollars into fixing it up, and then charge a $11 entrance fee for cars that would cover the yearly $6.2 million in operating costs. The city would still own the island, be absolved of all the yearly costs of running the island as well as any maintenance, and at the end of any 10yr time frame the city could cancel the lease. The state would only have Detroit residents working there too. The moronic idiots on the city council decided to not even vote on this.

Dino, good to know you still retain some allegiance to the Detroit teams! Word of caution though, only root for the Lions on Thanksgiving - anything more is just misery and constant irritation. Take it from a diehard lol

I know. Wasn't a good fit the following week. I myself am an LA guy and can turn on a team on a dime so the trauma wasn't ridiculous.

I lived in Grosse Point Park then and frequented Belle Isle every couple of weeks, a really great place. After my last trip I was using Google Maps and saw that Belle was basically abandoned, nearly everything gone.

For many years I think even Lions fans expected to lose on Turkey day. It was good to see them in the playoffs this year. Hopefully next year.
