An awesome night, after 5 yrs the Tranny Awards have developed into much closer to what I'd envisaged. Having a great location (and we'll be wanting to do it there next year), a perfect host and an amazing organizer in Kristel made things so much easier. There were a few minor hiccups but overall, everybody had a great evening and were well impressed.
I'm so very proud of the girls who were there, who for the most part looked and acted like the fabulous people they are. The dresses flowed, the hair was perfect and the attitudes friendly and open. I've never seen such little skin at a tgirl event, with most of the girls looking gorgeous in their dresses (just wait until you see the photos).
The red carpet started promptly with Tiffany Starr being the first on the carpet. Thanks to Telly, Alex and Frank gate-keeping and the multi-talented Morgan Bailey (great dress number 1) for keeping the red carpet flowing and ensuring nominees and models got some red-carpet time.
Chloe London played her guitar and original tunes on stage as people entered.
Showtime ... we were only 20 mins late with a few teething problems but everyone was having fun. Jujubee is incredible sweet and down to earth (and asked if she could mingle with people !?!?!) and with another awesome lady, Michelle Austin (many thanks to her for being so cool at the last minute) introducing her, the show started.
Shemale Yum Model of the Year (presented by Michelle Austin) predictably went to Jane Marie (great dress number 2) who has remained top girl on the site since debuting in May of this year.
Best Non-Typical Model was presented by FTM, James Darling (check out his site http://www.ftmfucker.com). There is always some confusion over this award and it's hard to clarify but it's for the girls who don't always fit into the more stereotypical tgirl (which is getting to be a wider stereotype by the month!). The winner, Danni Daniels - who started off dressed in a pig suit (therefore supporting her "non-typical status") before changing to her dress (great dress number 3).
Best DVD - presented by Ernie (http://www.piladyboy.com) and Tempest (http://www.ts-rockdolls.com) was a unique presentation as you'd expect from these larger than life characters. Winner, director Nica Noelle for "Forbidden Lovers" wasn't there but did tweet almost immediately how important winning this was.
Best Scene - present by Khloe Hart (great dress number 4) ... just how amazing does she (always) look. She could have graced a stage anywhere. There were a lot of competition in this category and the winners only made it by the narrowest margin of the competition, the somewhat surprised "Wendy Summers and Sadie Hawkins in Managed".
Eva Lin- took the stage to present the Best Scene Producer (great dress number 5) and was as graceful and as gorgeous as ever. A somewhat surprised Sammy Mancini from http://www.shemalestrokers.com was the recipient from a list of amazing producers.
Best DVD Director was presented by the stunning, Venus Lux (great dress number 6) who was also a show sponsor (check out her site at http://www.venus-lux.com). Joey Silvera has won this more than once ... and he picked up the award again. There is nobody producing consistent content like Joey and of course, this was a popular winner as he took to the stage and thanked Tony Vee (again!).
Best Foreign Performer was presented by Diego from sponsor http://www.thirdworldshemales.com accompanied by Jordan Jay (great dress number 7) who was also a sponsor, see her site at http://www.jordanjay.com. I take responsibility for that as I'd missed TS Jesse (great dress number 9) off the website (from which the program and listing was based) but the judges got all the information and in a close race, Jesse deservedly took the top spot. One of the hardest working tgirls in porn. This was presented by Hanna from sponsor Transformation Magazine. Producers Buddy Wood and Blackula got up to present Black Tgirls Model of the Year in a non-contested battle. Winning by a mile, Chanel Couture (great dress number 10) took to the stage and look absolutely gorgeous.
Intermission time ... Tara Emory whom you may know from http://www.tara-ts.com (and if not, you need to go there) performed a captivating burlesque performance which was fantastic and very well received. Tara designs her own costumes and believe me, when you here her plans for her own porn, you're going to get excited! Thanks to Jenna Belle and Bambi Prescott for go-go'ing during intermission. We had a minor hitch during the intermission which meant it ran for 10 mins too long - but got back on track when Jujubee retook the stage.
The statuesque and gorgeous Natassia Dreams (great dress number 11) took to the stage to present what was arguably the most important award of the night, the Fan Choice Award. Over 500 people voted this year and the winner by quite a long shot ... Jane Marie - taking her second of the evening.
A new award for this year, Bob's Tgirl's Model of the Year, based on votes from Bob's site was presented by Bob and Melissa. With the winner absent from the crowd (she was in the bathroom) and tumbleweeds blowing across the stage, we moved this back for a while.
The Best Internet Personality - could also have been called the Social Media Award and with John Ed bringing his whole crew on stage I had time to run to the bathroom and back before he got through the introductions. Joanna Jet (http://www.joannajet.com) entered the stage to begin her sponsored Lifetime Achievement Awards and after checking the crowd into submission told us how she felt about the next recipient, the graceful, smoking hot and one of my favorite girls, Gia Darling. The first (only) TS model to feature in Hustler, the first TS performer to run her own porn company and an inspiration to many girls.
Sammy Mancini collected his well deserved Lifetime Achievement Award for his amazing amount of behind the camera work over the years on his own productions and sites.
Best Male Performer - presented by Tiffany Starr (great dress number 12) was a highly popular winner - Mr Wolf Hudson who Jackson'd onto stage to accept.

Best Solo Model is one of the big awards and sponsored by cam powerhouse Ifriends.com who give away a free $20 voucher for their sites with each goodie bag. Amanda from Ifriends presented this award and the winner was .... for the second year in a row, Sarina Valentina. I've only met her in person this weekend and I have to say, she's one of the most beautiful looking girls I've seen. She was very happy and surprised to collect this.
Best Hardcore Model was sponsored by Search.XXX- I've found it hard to contain this for the past few weeks since I've know the winner! A rather worse for the wear, Morgan Bailey (a few too many cocktails) came to the stage and almost upstaged Jujubee! Without any disrespect to the other performers, this girl deserved this award and it's been too long coming. The crowd went wild when Foxxy's name was called and Foxxy, who was at the bar, was wondering why her name was being called. A standing ovation for this very popular performer.
The night wound down and gift bags were collected on the way out. Over 450 viewed the streaming video with over 50 viewing the whole 4 hrs.
