Who she? I used to have a pink shirt and it was a favourite until I grew too large in the wrong places for it. I don't really understand this American process of questioning policy makers before they have entered office. Ask them pertinent questions about a decision after they made it.

I don't really understand this American process of questioning policy makers before they have entered office. Ask them pertinent questions about a decision after they made it.The way the process works is that the President has the ability to nominate the members of his/her cabinet but the Senate has to confirm that nomination.

The process starts with a Senate committee with over sight for the nominees function holding hearings to vet the President's selection. Based on the hearings the committee votes whether to send the nominee to entire Senate for a vote.

The framers probably had no idea how partisan this function could become because the US at the time did not have political parties, even though most Americans think we were designed as a two party system it simply wasn't the case. But in its purest sense it does provide complete vetting and checks and balances.

Also in recent years if either house of Congress calls members of the Administration up to the Hill to question decisions after the fact typically all they will get anything from double talk to straight out being told that the President is exercising Executive Privilege.
