POLL - Video Formats on Paysites?

We're currently showing on the sites:

MP4 aimed at Ipad/Iphone
Streaming MP4
WMV at 640
Higher quality WMV at 1280

It's always a balance between size of file and quality. The highest quality there is 232Mb for a 12 min video.

We're considering going to 100% Mp4 as we feel the quality and compression is better managed and it seems that all devices can use them easily.

What is your preference?

I like the windows at 1280 myself. Just left SMS because they no longer offer WM for their new content.:)

Thanks for the answer. Can I ask you why you prefer WMV? What video viewer do you watch them in?

I've played with different formats on www.piladyboy.com (http://www.piladyboy.com), but currently offer MP4 for streaming and download and WMV for low res, fast download and convenience. Virtually anyone who can play WMV can play MP4, plus MP4 plays where WMV doesn't, but the MP4's are higher quality and much larger files, so I offer the two formats. Krissy is really on top of this with multiple formats, but I'm keeping it down to two for now.

Personally, as long as it plays on my iPad with respectable quality I'm okay with any format.

MP4 is standard. It doesn't really matter to me. As long as the file works then I am down.

I normally download the wmv 1280 if that is an option. Use standard media player or VLC.

Youngblood you left SMS too quickly then because they didnt get rid of WMV there was a bug in the player and they had to fix it so they had a few updates without wmv until it was fixed.

as i do not watch porn on my tablet (android), only my laptops and media center, i do prefer the best quality clip available, which has been the WMV on most sites. Some ladyboy sites (ladyboygold for example) have nearly 2gb files at times which is annoying.

that said, I did vote for MP4 because a faster download and universal file format is probably better in the long run

I'm all about the higher definition. If the quality is not good, I won't watch it. That's why I liked the download options that Kink.com offered so much until the actual quality of the content took a nose dive over the past few months....

What! This is disappointing to hear.................... Please say that on your site because far too many sites don't say streaming only or no video downloading. There are easy ways to get around that so I don't see the point of any site being stream-only.

i think eventually it will all goto streaming only .. now internet connections are getting so fast and stable .. in a couple more years there will be no reason for people not to stream easily ..

i have not met a file i can't download no matter what format or embedding is used so "streaming only sites" aren't a big issue for me unless the quality is just horrid

My biggest problem with stream only sites is that I feel that I am paying for the same movie more than once. For example let's say your site is stream only and I joined to watch a particular hardcore scene. Two months later my membership ends. Five months passes by and I am horny for that hardcore scene again. Now I must pay to watch the scene again. I don't believe in paying for the same scene or scenes more than once.

Steam-only will only hurt porn than help it. DVD sales have decreased every year since online porn became huge.

dvd sales decreased because physical media is annoying and hdmi ports on laptops and video cards became standard. its the same thing as the CD and ipod...or even the porn mag and online stills. it is just the way of convenience.

That is true. I don't think there is a need for stream only when people are going to download the content anyways.

Brought the problem to the forum but there was no response so I left. Should have brought it to the Web Master my mistake. I am president of the Technology Retard club.
Pressing the start button on my laptop is about as complicated a chore as I can handle.
I view all SMY and BTG vids with WMV. My 8 year old Toshiba running Windows XP would probably freeze up if I tried to download MP4, and besides that, I'm a creature of habit.
I voted for WMV.

windows media player plays mp4s without any issue. you may need a codec if you are running an old version but it does just fine. i use VLC for flv files and if WMP has a problem with a particular file. If VLC can open it, i just recode the file so WMP can recognize it.
